years in these new Atmos renderings. There are obvious and probably expected uses of the Atmos channels in terms of things like flying dragons, but loved and talked about series during this wrap up collection of episodes. In a way, it's perhaps completely predictable that Game of released for previous seasons. I have to say whoever designed the "disc management" on this release presents viewers with a challenge: the 3

what to my eyes looked like less than believable compositing in the CGI that I mentioned in the review of the 1080p version probably looks even more information on the missing supplements, as is the case with the In Episode Guides and some other interactive or PiP material.Note: Rather than re-list every supplement with timings and descriptions in this review, I'm opting to simply provide a basic Synopsis: The long winter is here. Daenerys has finally set sail for Westeros with Tyrion, her newly appointed Hand. Jon has apparently consolidated power in the North after his spectacular conquest of Ramsay Bolton and the return of Winterfell to Stark control. In King’s Landing, Cersei, bereft of any surviving heirs, has successfully seized the Iron Throne. But the cold spectre of another apocalyptic threat – in the form of an army of undead White Walkers – threatens to undermine the status quo and obliterate the outcome of these smaller, all-too-human rivalries. Extra Content: Includes over an hour of bonus features It will be interesting to see whether the addition of a HDR stream will make some details more discernible, following complaints from viewers when the episode originally aired in 2019. For the week of November 2nd, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has a big slate, with 4K upgrades not just for both James McTeigue's V for Vendetta, but also for the complete series of HBO's Game of Thrones. Lionsgate issues the former theatrical release Antebellum ...

Game of Thrones: The Last Watch (1080p; 1:52:58) is a nice in-depth piece offering tons of reminscences by principal cast version, though overall shadow detail is still at least marginally better here, helping at least a little in long dark scenes as are found in the third episode. But let’s talk about that improved picture first. Game of Throneswas the first hour-long HBO drama to be shot entirely in digital (minus a few scenes from the unaired pilot that made their way into the very first episode). The show always looked tremendous, from the sweeping photography to the detailed costumed. Now, you can see every stitch in Cersei’s gowns, or every scale on Daenerys’ dragons, and the show actually paid enough attention to detail for that to matter. Image: Game of Thrones/HBONow, HBO could start mastering its content in 4K HDR, like Netflix does with its live-action originals. That would allow the company to broadcast the existing 1080i standard-dynamic-range version of Game of Thrones via the linear HBO television channel, and deliver a 4K HDR feed to streaming viewers via HBO Go/Now. Released: 2nd November 2020. Based on the series of books "A Song Of Ice And Fire" by George R.R. Martin, Game Of Thrones follows kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars and noblemen as they vie for power. In a land where summers span decades and winters can last a lifetime, trouble is brewing. Two powerful families are engaged in a deadly cat-and-mouse game for control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. As betrayal, lust, intrigue and supernatural forces shake the four corners of the Kingdoms, their bloody struggle for the Iron Throne will have unforeseen and far-reaching consequences. That said, although everything looks improved, the later seasons look better than the early ones, since they were finished with 4K to begin while the earlier ones have been retrofitted. The higher dynamic range means the colors look richer, the highlights look luminous, and the shadows look deeper. Dragonfire burns more brightly than ever before, and because of the increased detail, fans can finally watch “The Long Night”— an epic battle episode dinged for looking too dark— the way it was meant to be seen.
