Was taken and told about a 35 min wait for table and we would get a message when ready. This was great... as meant we could go off and do a couple of things instead of standing in line! If you love to cycle - you will love the cycling routes in and around Dawlish. The Exe Estuary Trail offers off road cycling for 16miles from Dawlish Warren to Exmouth, along some of the most stunning coastal scenery. Neighbouring Towns & Villages such as those in the Lewes District have been home to many a noteable name. Famous writer Virginia Woolf worked and lived in Rodmell, and her house is now a National Trust property that you can pay a visit to, known as Monk's house. The birthday child can bring two adults and each birthday guest can bring one adult, up to the maximum capacity.

Children will enjoy 90 minutes of play in Bear Town followed by 30 minutes in their private party room*, you can choose from the Disco Cave or Play Den. Time splits can be flexible. For a Mini Party, food will be served at your reserved table in the cafe after 90 minutes play. We like to do things differently here at Higher Eggbeer, so instead of hiring the venue for just one day, you’ll have exclusive use of the entire venue, farmhouse and grounds for two/three days, to use as your please. We will also provide a yummy birthday cake with candles and Bear Town balloons for the children to take home. Rail: Dawlish is renowned for having one of the most scenic railway lines in the world, running just metres from the sea it is well worth making the trip by train. Dawlish Train Station is on the main line to London Paddington.
We pride ourselves on being a super relaxed venue. No two weddings at Higher Eggbeer are ever the same and you will have complete freedom to create your wedding day exactly as you choose. If you would like to add a little extra to your party for the grown-ups, add on one of our two party extras when booking. Why not pay a visit to the historic Old Town and wander through the Manor Gardens at Gildredge Park, then cross over the road and grab something to eat at The Lamb Inn, the oldest pub and one of the oldest buildings in Eastbourne. Next door is St Mary's Church, Eastbourne's oldest church. The first inhabitants of Dawlish were fisherman and salt makers. This industry continued through the Roman occupation, and the town also benefited from farming in the surrounding countryside. It was the railway that transformed the town, allowing many more visitors to enjoy its classic Regency and early Victorian styles.

There are also plenty of coastal walks from Dawlish along the South West Coast Path - you can either head left to Dawlish Warren and Exmouth, or right to Teignmouth and Torbay.
The private pool and tennis court are located just a few steps from the main house and offer exclusive use throughout your hire*. The South Devon Railway Line runs through Dawlish, this is considered one of the most scenic railway lines in Britain, it runs along the coast from Exeter to Newton Abbot providing wonderful views along the Exe Estuary and out to sea. The line runs along the coast under the distinct red brown cliffs and through series of dramatic tunnels, literally a few metres from the shoreline. The coffee was very nice and we both went for the Turkish eggs and they were very nice. They came with a toastie which was also good and great for dipping! The pool and pool house are yours to use as you please during the hire. However, on the afternoon of your wedding, as you head into the barn for your wedding breakfast, we will close the pool for the safety of the guests and reopen it first thing the following morning.
