The A313 is a Cult French Vitamin A product that is shrouded in mystery. It works phenomenally but nobody is actually sure why. I have fallen down a bit of a rabbit hole with this one, and whilst I do not have ALL the answers, I have made some interesting discoveries along the way. Read on for a review of the A313 and a bit of insight as to why it works so well. This moisturizer is concentrated with pro-retinol (a milder pre-cursor to retinol) to visibly reduce wrinkles, firm and brighten skin in just one week of use. This new information seemed to make sense. However, after our call I decided to do a little bit more research into the additional ingredients, and to be honest, I really do not know how I feel about my discovery.Now, here’s where it gets a little confusing. However, according to National Institutes of Health (NIH), 1 IU of vitamin A is equivalent to 0.3 micrograms of retinol. 4 If you are acne-prone and new to retinoids, then your skin may purge when you first start A313. Purging is an initial acne breakout that can occur when using a new treatment that increases skin cell turnover. If you can suffer through it—it usually lasts about a month—purging is actually a good thing because it’s bringing up the clogged sebum that was trapped under your skin surface. I read somewhere it has 0.2% retinol and I would like to use it after dermarolling since the base looks hydrating. And is cheap.
