It follows a similar timeline to K13 but the summarizing of dialogues and actions that happened in K13 made it feel like we were jumping from one scene to another. Maybe to compensate, Aoife and Joey spent the first 80% of the book walking in circles, copying what had already happened in S6 but getting worse and worse with time. It would probably have worked better if we didn’t know what was going to happen at the end- I still remember how my heart raced with fear in K13-, but here I just wanted to know what was going to come next. Only to realize that ‘next’ was only 20% of the book, with more scenes about other characters than the main couple and with way too many problems that were left to imagine were solved in the epilogue. Why was Aoife still bringing up the other girls Joey was with 44% into this book when he’s never cheated on her? Why is she making him feel shitty for no reason when she was in a relationship with Paul for 3 and a half years and emotionally cheated on him the entire time! i loved gibsie in r6, he was hilarious (as always), but i also loved how we got to see another side of him - how helpful he was. to add to that, the fact that only the last 20% of this book had completely fresh content that had no connection to B13 & K13 was criminal. Saving 6 is the first book of Joey & Aoife duet with Redeeming 6 as their conclusion (coming March 2023). It does end on a little cliffhanger, but people who have read Binding 13 and Keeping 13 will know how Joey & Aoife story continues since Saving 6 timeline ends right before Binding 13 starts.
