About this deal

The Nash BP range consists of four models (BP-4, BP-6, BP-10 & BP-12) and each have their own uses. The BP-4 was created to be used in conjunction with the Nash Sawn-Offs, the BP-6 is the ideal partner for the Nash Scope and Dwarf rods and the BP-12 was created for ultra-long distance fishing. Big pit reels can hold a lot of line, which are perfect if you are doing really long distance casting or boating your rigs out to their chosen spots. However, if you are only casting around 100yds, you can probably go for a smaller version (or maybe you don’t even need a big pit reel at all?) Both the Nash H-Gun FR-5 and FR-8 spare spools are fitted with a single spot on line clip. This means that you can fish on the clip to get full casting accuracy without worrying about causing any kind of line damage.

The H-Gun BP-10 boasts a multi-disc drag that allows you to switch between free spool and fight mode in just one turn. This enables you to capitalise on every power with aggression – resulting in more landed catches. Level Wind ensures that you get perfect line lay every time. All good reels deserve to have good spare spools and this is true of the Nash H-Gun range. All the Nash H-Gun reels are top quality bits of kit that have been purposed designed for use with the H-Gun rod range. These spare spools have been purpose built to fit the different models in the range. This is the odd-looking number that is associated with every reel (i.e 4.6:1). In this instance, it tells you that the spool rotates 4.6 times for each turn of the handle. In some cases, the higher the number is, the more line the reel can retrieve. If you have a really lightweight rod and a really heavy big pit reel, it can feel slightly alien. On the flip-side, a really lightweight reel can sometimes feel unbalanced. It is definitely worth buying gear that works well together. Before we take a look at the recommendations, there are a few factors that you should always consider before parting with your hard-earned cash:

Considering that Daiwa is responsible for some of the most expensive reels on the planet, it is nice to see that they also provide a good quality reel at the other end of the price spectrum. While Daiwa and Shimano may be known as the unofficial market leaders when it comes to manufacturing carp reels, Fox will almost always be mentioned in the same breath by many anglers.

The H-Gun BP-10 is fitted with a dual Spot On line clip. This allows you to fish two spots with total accuracy, perfect for when you’re using this rod as a spod or a marker. The Spot On technology ensures that you’re never at risk of damaging your line. I know many anglers who use this as a spod reel, but there is no reason why it should be limited to that. Boasting 7 stainless steel ball bearings, an aluminium handle and a strong casing, Avid has created a reel that is built to last. At 740g, it is one of the heavier reels on this list.

There's three reels in the range with two free spool reels (FR5 and FR8) and one big pit (BP10). First of all we’ll start with the freespool models, the Nash H-Gun FR-5 and the Nash H-Gun FR-8, now both these models are the same, the only difference being the spool capacity and size. Will Nash bring out top end reels? Only when we believe we have the technical ability and innovation to take the best boys on. We wouldn't, for example, just bring out a reel which is a basically a copy of Daiwa or Shimano, with no unique innovative features. Just like we are proving with bite alarms, if we go into a product area it will only be with the knowledge that we have something better to offer the carp angler.’ A big pit carp reel has become an essential piece of kit for when you are fishing at longer distances, so much so that many anglers have discarded their faithful baitrunner reels in favour of these all-rounders. PLEASE NOTE: (Size restrictions do apply, please see Royal Mail webiste for further information.) All Prices are Inc VatBoasting stainless steel ball bearings, a matt finish and a balanced, wooden handle, the Okuma CB-80 even comes with a spare spool! The Spot-On line clips are fitted to the BP10 and mean you can cast to your clip at long-distance without worrying about damaging your line.

Why make reels so cheap? The Nash sub brand H-Gun recognizes that an awful lot of people haven't got much spare cash, youngsters have little or are relying on parents, and it could be argued that if you're new to the sport its madness to go spending a lot of money on top end gear if you aren't going to take to it. The Nash Bp10 has been equipped with multi-disc fast drag technology, which allows you to switch between free-spool drag and fighting drag setting in less than one turn of the adjustment handle. The H-Gun BP-10 has a long cast nose which is constructed from aluminium. This allows you to load it up with a fantastic amount of line and enables you to reach the farthest features you need on some of the nation’s largest lakes. This spool has been created with CAD technology to ensure its full precision. Fitted with an oversized line roller to eliminate line twist – even when fishing with a braid – this reel makes casting and retrieving a dream to use.recommend that you use recorded or special delivery as we can not be liable for any loss or damage in transit.
