About this deal

Marvel Zombies was introduced in comics during 2005 and What If...? features an episode about this alternative universe, where famous heroes have become zombies. Zombie Captain America retains recognisable features of the original character, but his uniform has become tattered and therefore reveals inhuman zombie flesh underneath. Like other characters in this series, we’re treated to a highly detailed minifigure and I especially like the fur detailing throughout his body, with printing across his arms, legs and the side of his legs. It could probably be improved with an Easter Egg referencing the Ship of Theseus, but otherwise is an awesome addition to any LEGO Marvel collection.

The boxes are well-designed and easy to rip open. They also rattle quite loudly as all the LEGO elements are inside the cardboard blister. If you’ve been following my blog, you’ll know that my positition on this has been clear, I do not support the switch to pure blind boxes, as it encourages gambling, and the uncertainty of what you will get, something that most people can’t afford to do. LEGO could’ve easily included some hidden code or symbol on each box to identify what’s inside, but their unwillingness to do so just reeks of not listening to longtime fans and punishing Minifigure fans.I think I prefer the image of the yodeling to death superpower. Sounds almost like a lost Monty Python skit, a quasi-sequel to Mr Neutron so to speak :-) " Loki's accessories also deviate from the television series, to some degree. The printed Time Variance Authority mug seems suitable, but Throg is undoubtedly an unusual addition! Thor's famed frog equivalent only appears briefly during the series and his inclusion here is therefore remarkable, originating from an earlier script that involved the character more prominently. I’ve sat on the floor feeling for dog poo shapes or that 1×2 plate. I’ve had random strangers ask if I can find a nerd girl for their granddaughter . None of these people asked to find the rare vintage policeman, they wanted the one figure that would bring them a smile. They are gonna upset alot of people including the kids, it’s not the first time LEGO have taken things away from us, I still never forgive them for shutting down LEGO Universe when I was a kid.

I am a dedicated “feeler” of the bags and for almost a decade have added “the one” to our child’s home collection and countless friends, neighbours and coworkers kids collections. Beast looks fantastic rendered in blue, with plenty of fur detailing across his body and a primary face featuring Hank’s thoughtful face with glasses on.

Minifigures

Her S.W.O.R.D. outfit is fairly minimalist and sleek – being mostly white with some grey details on her upper torso, with the S.W.O.R.D. logo in the middle of her chest. Loki is a great albeit plain minifigure, perfectly embodying his on-screen TVA counterpart, especially with that great hairpiece, and the addition of LEGO Throg makes for a great pair.

LEGO have batch codes and more randomised strings all over their sets, from inner polybags, and batch codes on the tape that holds boxes shut. Once you figure out how to read them, you’ll begin seeing them everywhere and it’s a fun exercise to figure out which factories your LEGO comes from. Learn more about LEGO’s sustainable goals and why LEGO made the shift from blind bags to these recyclable blind boxes. Monica Rambeau comes with a red helicopter, assembled out of several small LEGO parts – a reference to a reconnaissance drone that was sent by S.W.O.R.D. into the hex, which transformed into a red toy helicopter discovered by Wanda.

Joining Moon Knight is Mr. Knight, another one of Marc Spector’s alter-egos. Eschewing Egyptian mummy garb for a more distinguished 3-piece suit, Mr. Knight is a more cerebral and levelled alter-egos and is dressed accordingly with a white mask, and sharp suit, all in monochrome white. Next, we have the long-awaited re-release of She-Hulk minifigure, based on her Disney+ series version where Tatiana Maslany plays the Hulk’s lawyer cousin, Jen Walters. That printing is combined with dual-moulding, producing a beautiful combination of bright and muted colours. Gamora's head seems fittingly severe as one side exhibits a neutral face while the other appears angry. Accurate metallic silver details are present as well, alongside pink and magenta highlights in Gamora's hair, improving upon past versions that have featured magenta alone. How to find one: Throg is a little hard to make out as he’s quite large, and feels like an indeterminate lump. You can also try feeling for the mug, which has a more recognisable shape with the handle, and cylindrical shape.

How to find one: Try feeling for Vision’s laptop – the 2 x 1 tile your best bet, or the laptop screen, which feels like a 2 x 1 tile with a bulbous spine. That said, the new She-Hulk is a superb LEGO minifigure and one of the standouts of Series 2. I imagine she’ll be a fairly popular minifigure from this series. Next up we have Echo, aka Maya Lopez, who featured in Hawkeye and will also have her own series on Disney+ in November 2023. Echo is one of the most impressive minifigures in this series with incredible detailing across her entire body. The She-Hulk minifigure features highly detailed prints of her TV-show suit, and I really like what they’ve done with the leg printing.LEGO produces few colours approaching white, unlike others which are available in numerous shades. Vision therefore presents challenges because the onscreen character is almost wholly white, but features intricate texture. The designer has therefore employed light bluish grey which contrasts against this white decoration, differing noticeably from the source material but creating an attractive effect. Cobbled together from Vision’s lifeless body after the events of Infinity War by S.W.O.R.D., White Vision went head to head against Wanda’s re-created vision in the Hex, before settling the score in a philosophical duel, ending with it absorbing all of Vision’s memories, and declaring himself the true Vision before flying off. Has TLG considered that many of its customers may not agree with the contentious and disputed aims behind much of the climate change agenda and (as with many other organisations who have in recent times elected to virtue signal their woke credentials) end up driving customers away from TLG rather than towards it? All in all, Goliath is a decent minifigure, but it feels quite out of place in this series, especially with Season 2’s release date up in the air, and only likely to arrive in 2024, making it quite hard to connect with Goliath.
