About this deal

Would a branded promotion influence your decision when purchasing nappy pants? Probably would make me more aware of new products Would you consider changing from your current brand of nappies to Aldi Mamia and why? No because lidl and size 6 are better fitting and bigger than the aldi size 7 Our go-to nappies are Mamia from Aldi. They’re cheap and they don’t smell when they are full of wee, which I’ve found other nappies tend to do. They don’t leave my baby with a sore bottom - and I’ve been using since birth! If your baby suffers from leakage, it’s time to go up a size. They’re absolutely amazing value for money. I’m now onto nappy pants and they are fab too! I highly recommend them.”

Yes, definitely. I only ever buy pampers when they’re on offer as otherwise they’re just too expensive. The tear away sides make them easy to take off in the morning, without having to take his pj bottoms off. They also make it easy to clear up any accidents. Have you used Aldi Mamia nappy pants before? Yes I had used the size 6 nappy pants when my toddler was potty training. They are easy to pull up and my child can do it themselves. The nappy is easy to remove with the tear away sides. I’d say they have always been good for leaking till they got to stage 3, I’d also say these ones seem to be a lot better. These cheap nappies have performed brilliantly in our lab and parent user tests, showing that you don’t have to spend a lot to get a decent nappy. Not only do they provide good absorption, the parents who used them found that there were few issues with leakage or irritation for their baby.' Gail: The main thing which makes life easier as a mum with this product is simply the cost. These nappies are absolutely excellent value for money for disposable nappies. They are of excellent quality for their low cost, and otherwise are exactly the same as other disposable nappies on the market in terms of their ease of use etc, even those which cost much more.

Would you consider changing from your current brand of nappies to Aldi Mamia and why? Yes I would as it is worth the change and price. No leaks, snug fit, enough frills to avoid “poonami overflow” and perfect for my baby’s sensitive skin.’ Reusable nappies have come a long way since terry squares. Poppers, velcro or plastic clips are used instead of pins and they often come as a one-size nappy which will fit for several years. There are a range of colourful and cool designs from brands available too. Reusable nappies are also chemical-free and, long-term, work out cheaper than disposables. The nappy pants have easy tear away sides and all-round stretch, making them as convenient as pants but with the absorbency of a nappy. Flexible leg cuffs also help prevent any leaks.

Reviews

What are the best features of the Aldi Mamia nappy pants that make them ‘mum friendly'? (i.e: ease of use/leaks/storage etc.) I haven’t actually used Aldi Mamia nappy pants before. My go to for my toddler is pampers or huggies pull ups at nighttime.

Lidl also sells a premium range which the discount supermarket claims offers advanced comfort, fit and flexibility. These nappies come in sizes one to five. Although convenient and absorbent, disposables have their downsides. Most of them contain bleaching agents, dyes, latex, and other plastics. All nappies are tested before they go on sale, so although the materials are not harmful, if your baby has sensitive skin or allergies, there is a small chance of a reaction to the chemicals they contain. In many cases, swapping to a different brand will help avoid this issue. We buy Mamia because not only is it great value for money but we have found it to be the most absorbent and has the most accurate sizing; beating all of the leading brands that we have tried.’ My little one found these really easy to pull up and down. With some he struggles as the leg cuffs are too tight but Mamia were perfect. They are thin so don't take up lots of room in a drawer like some other brands of nappy pants. My son also found them comfy and soft and didn't immediately cry to have them taken off Possibly but more unlikely as l tend to prefer to use a nappy that l am happy with in is effectiveness.

Lidl claims its Lupilu nappies have magical air tubes with absorbent channels in the core to keep your baby dry for up to 12 hours (eight hours for the newborn range). They have soft fleece and an elasticated waistband for a comfortable fit. Its nappy range covers sizes one through to six, with three additional plus sizes. The main reason parents decide against disposables and opt for reusable nappies is the environmental impact. Around eight million nappies are thrown into landfill waste each day in the UK, and may take hundreds of years to decompose. On average, switching from disposable to reusable cuts carbon emissions from nappy use by a quarter. Would you consider changing from your current brand of nappies to Aldi Mamia and why? I already use Mamia nappies The huggies car patterned ones as my little one likes to feel older than his brother who is in baby nappies What brands of nappy pants do you currently use most often? If you use Mamia, what other brands do you use? AsdaI would when we came to potty training, due to the price, but they might be too small by that stage
