The cooling unit itself has two cables to plug in, a SATA power connector, and a pump sensor cable. The SATA power connector should be connected directly to an available SATA power cable from your PSU, and the 3 pin (with only a single sensor wire) fan connector should be plugged into your CPU fan header on the motherboard. The sensor cable relays pump RPM information to both the BIOS and to the Corsair Link V2 software, and lets your motherboard know that you have a CPU cooler installed. In real fact...CL2 is full of bugs...leds..pump...usb issues...fans noise...high temps....sierra has to be restarted if you put your pc in standby.....conflicts with other drivers....and so on. A software driver that takes 2.3+ GB to install just to tell you fan speeds and temps, that runs 64+ processes and runs at 6% + CPU usage all of the time is not "impressive" in any universe. And certainly not when that software is riddled with bugs, some as old as 3+ years - Fundamental stuff that should have been fixed by now.I think it doenst matter what is the inicial temperature because If I start the computer with the default setting of starting ICUE when the computer starts, it starts as acelerated as before.
