EASY & EFFICIENT Q² CanCoat EVO is the easiest coating to apply you will experience. It is also the best value for money product to protect or maintain your ceramic coated car. Its 200ml allows you to coat or re-apply it over 10 to 15 times! Gyeon's CanCoat EVO offers more durable performance, improved visual enhancement, and hydrophobic properties - all thanks to the updated EVO formula. It remains as easy to apply as it used to, now featuring even easier wipe off. Q² CanCoat EVO offers more durable performance, improved visual enhancement and hydrophobic properties - all thanks to the updated EVO formula. It remains as easy to apply as it used to, now featuring even easier wipe off. Was I expecting too much from the claims of self-cleaning/beading and this is normal for ceramic coatings or did I do something wrong?

One thing that is interesting is that CanCoat does indeed harden but it hardens into a white powdered silica which is cool. It can be seen in the sprayer as well. I know many have had issues with the sprayers fail even after rinsing but for me I am still on the original sprayer. I rinse it with hot water and pump hot water through it. When doing a side by side comparison between Cancoat and say Gtechniq CSL w/ exov4 topper over G’s life span of 3 to 5 years, consider the prep. time and materials it would cost for both for one application. The same. Now calculate the cost to prep. 2 to 4 more times using Cancoat over that same time period.

GYEON Q² Can Coat EVO

Gyeon Wet Coat is a “spray and rinse sealant”. You can apply the product according to the following instructions: Method 1 I used CSL topped w/ C2V3 on a vehicle, applied January 2017 and it was among the poorest at self cleaning among the many coatings I have tried; it rained, it needed washing. The base CSL significantly improved in this area after a month or two, likely when the C2V3 application wore off. After 8 months and 20k+ miles, the CSL was doing alright but CSL alone is not really noted for its extensively entertaining water behavior so I was looking for something to maintain the richness of the base CSL look (which I liked) but wanted something a bit more long lasting than a standard topper/booster to improve the self cleaning/hydrophobic behavior….so I topped it with a layer of CanCoat, which totally transformed the performance of the CSL in a definitely positive manner. The CanCoat added a bit of pleasing to me candy-gloss pop to the CSL and CanCoat has great hydrophobic/self-cleaning characteristics which it lent to the overall performance of the vehicle.

Simply spray onto a microfiber towel and wipe until you achieve full gloss. That is how easy it is to apply Q² CanCoat EVO! Now in its EVO form to provide you with a more durable yet easy to apply SiO2 based coating. Developed over the course of two years by some of the world's leading car care experts, Q2 Cancoat EVO also offers an easier wipe-off process, and improved flexibility for the conditions in which it can be applied. Like the other coatings in the EVO lineup, it can be applied outdoors, making this a great option for driveway detailers and mobile detailers around the world. All coatings have a limited shelf life due to the chemical nature of how they crystallize. Look to use coatings within 4-6 months of receiving them. Members and I of the detailing community cringe when we hear of any spray on product that has the name ‘ceramic’, ‘coat’, or ‘SI02 in it’. We have seen these (maintenance spray) products sold and detailing services with the application of these products offered with the blatantly misleading implication the consumer is getting comparable protection to a true ceramic coating. I want to start by saying Gyeon recently released its Evo line, which includes a seemingly improved formulation of CanCoat. But for the sake of this discussion I will only mention the original formula.Gyeon Q² Can Coat EVO is the easiest coating to apply you will experience. It is also the best value for money product to protect or maintain your ceramic coated car. Its 200ml size allows you to coat or re-apply it over 10 to 15 times! CanCoat has always been one of may favorite products. I would go on a limb and often state it was the best coating in the Gyeon line even if was not a full fledged coating. It had a claim of up to 6 months but it consistently exceeded in durability and longevity for me ranging from15-18 months. It is also one of the most versatile coatings as it can be applied to any surface (glass, paint, trim, wheels) as a standalone but also as a maintenance topper after a year or so. It also has some of the best hydrophobic behavior that I have seen and it leaves that glossy appearance. Bad news is that about 15 hrs after applying it started to rain a little and 24 hrs after the second coat the rain got heavier. I was hoping for 24 hrs without rain to allow it to fully cure. However, after a drive in the wet a couple of days later, the rear of the car was just as dirty as ever and although there was beading, a lot of those beads later dried to leave horrible, dirty, water spots. Leaving the car out in the rain a few days later and the beads were still there but again they later dried to dirty water spots.

You may like the idea of a paint coating, but you may be intimidated by the application process. Or maybe you simply don't have the time to allow your vehicle to cure for 12-24 hours before driving it. GYEON knows that just because you're busy, doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to enjoy extreme water beading and that's why they developed GYEON Q2 CANCOAT EVO! Chemical resistance. Ive tested this a bit and sprayed on undiluted APC (around 12 ph), aggitated and rinsed. It had very little effect on the coating. I made some fundamental errors during my first attempt at using Can Coat. Since I had associated the product with other coatings, I treated it like a normal coating application. I sprayed the product onto a microfiber applicator and then spread the coating onto a section of the paint using overlapping, cross-hatch motions. I then wiped the residue away and moved on to the next section. This was easy enough, though I did notice some residual product or light streaking from time to time that required additional attention to completely remove. As I continued to work I began to understand that with this product, less is more. Over application provided no benefit. It just took more time, created more work, and made for a more stressful process. Applied can coat at the weekend . Full paint cleanse and machine polish . I used Bilt hamber paint cleanser. Not sure if I should have splashed out on Gyeon prep. Anyway I then applied can coat . left 2 hrs and applied second coat . You should apply Gyeon Q² CanCoat EVO in a dry place out of direct sunlight. In all cases, prepare the surfaces you are going to treat in the normal way (wash > decontaminate > polish), and then do a wipe down with Gyeon Q²M Prep to ensure that they are spotlessly clean. For best results, spray Gyeon Q² CanCoat on to either the supplied microfibre towel or a PB Super Buffing Towel and immediately wipe it over a single panel to spread a thin, even film of product. Then refold the towel and continue buffing to fully remove the film and reveal an intense streak-free shine. Alternatively, mist a Meguiar's Even Coat Microfiber Applicator Pad with Gyeon Q² CanCoat EVO and wipe a thin, even film of product over a single panel at a time before buffing off with either the supplied microfibre towel or a PB Super Buffing Towel. Either way, you should aim to complete all of the buffing off within 1-2 minutes, i.e. before the coating begins to harden.I started applying with a MF applicator and then wipe off with supplied cloth. Not sure if this was putting too much product on or not but found this method difficult when removing. So I then changed to just using the supplied MF to apply. I relation to beeding. I honestly don't think it's any better than wet coat. Maybe I need to apply cure on top........surely the rain would not have washed this off or reduced the hydrophic ability after 15-20 hrs? Then factor in the hard cost of Gtechniq to Cancoat which some have said required two cans of the aerosol version per car for two coats multiplied by 3 to 5 years vs Gtechniq’s one time expense. No comparison! Gtechniq the better value by far. Waxes, sealants, coatings… oh my! The paint protection industry is evolving every single day. New technology is pushing out new products faster and faster, and consumers now have so many options it can be a bit overwhelming. Today we are going to talk about one of those options, Gyeon CanCoat. I have heard of some individuals using CanCoat as a drying aid, with even less durability being the tradeoff. Although I have not personally pushed this product to those limits yet, it is a testament to the versatility of this product.

Ensure your exterior surfaces are clean, dry and free from contamination; so wash thoroughly and dry. Clay your car if required prior and we strongly suggest you wipe over with GYEON Prep to remove all traces of old wax, residue, polish or oils. Gyeon Q2 Can Coat EVO is an increibly easy to use spray coating, simply spray onto the attached microfibre and wipe until you achieve full gloss. Now in its EVO form to provide you with a more durable yet easy to apply SiO2 based coating. Moments after applying CanCoat to this BMW it had begun to rain. I immediately began to see very good hydrophobic behavior (water beading).CanCoat applied in not the most ideal scenarios can serve as an exceptionally strong sealant. But applied properly like a coating it can act like a hybrid coating (9 months chemical resistance) or in two layers pass as an actual coating. Of course you can use Bathe+ in place of a topper in the above cycle, however it's not going to give you the look, durability or performance of a dedicated product like Cure. Q² CanCoat EVO is the easiest coating to apply you will experience. It is also the best value for money product to protect or maintain your ceramic coated car. Its 200ml allows you to coat or re-apply it over 10 to 15 times! Best Practices for Ceramic Coatings For example Cancoat is the most expensive and labor intensive way to coat a car over a set time period of 3 to 5 yrs compared to other using your term, traditional coatings, which for most long lasting durability being one of the primary reasons to coat a car. I’ve discovered that Can Coat is a bit of a unique product. In my opinion, it falls somewhere between the two categories. Can coat claims to provide many of the benefits of a true coating such as strong protection against chemicals, environmental contaminants, and UV rays, however it does not offer the same durability that most coatings can provide. Can Coat is like a more potent version of a spray sealant such as Gyeon Cure, but a less potent version of a coating like Gyeon Mohs. Can Coat may be applied on top of an existing coating or as a stand alone layer of protection.
