About this deal

The Electriq CD10L performs adequately at room temperature, but it can't match the best 10 litre dehumidifiers for water removal. When the temperature drops it really starts to struggle though - even more than the average refrigerant. We have a few complaints about this model though. The main problem is that we feel it's overpriced, considering the basic features and 12L extraction rate. It's also relatively noisy and surprisingly heavy. There is nothing worse than your dehumidifier breaking down just after the Manufacturer's warranty has expired. Here at Buy It Direct Ltd we want you to get the most out of your dehumidifier, which is why we offer a5 Year Warranty plan. The egg-shaped appliance measures 33.5cm wide by 28.0cm deep by 43.5cm tall, which is roughly on a par with the other dehumidifiers in its class.

It's not perfect though. The CD20LE is one of the bulkiest dehumidifiers on the market, weighing a hefty 13.8kg and with a width of 42.5cm. The built-in carry handle and castors make it easier to move around the home, but it's certainly not a portable dehumidifier. It's also not as effective in cooler conditions, so for garages or unheated rooms we recommend a desiccant dehumidifier. Lights up red when the water collection tank is full. The CD10L will stop dehumidifying automatically when this occurs, so there is no chance of an overflow. Another plus for the dehumidifier is that it is rather small in its build, only measuring 13 inches wide and 17 inches high. The weight of the unit is also a manageable 9.5kgs. This compact build comes in handy when you want to move the dehumidifier since it does not have a handle or caster wheels. Who are Electriq though? Which are the company's the best dehumidifiers? And are there any you should avoid? Let's find out. Who Are Electriq? It's not the most powerful dehumidifier on the market - you wouldn't expect it to be with the low energy consumption. But it can do a decent job at removing water, especially at room temperature or above. The ElectrIQ 10L weighs 10.5kg, which is about average for a refrigerant dehumidifier of this power. The appliance sits on castor wheels, so thankfully you can roll it rather than having to lift it up, should you need to move it. If you need to lift it up then there’s a chunky carrying handle that folds out of the top of the unit. Our Extended5 Year Warranty from Buy It Direct gives you the reassurance that if an electrical or mechanical fault arises you won't be exposed to costly repair bills. Our dedicated technical team will take care of your dehumidifier. Activated Carbon filter and HEPA filter: can remove pollen, dustand animal hairs in large rooms (up to 55 sqm)

The dehumidifier only comes with one fan speed. Having two fan speeds gives the variation between power when you need it and quietness when you don’t. So it’s a shame not to see it on the CD10L, but not unexpected for a machine in this price range. To take advantage of this great offer just simply add the warranty extension you want and we'll do the rest. Even so, it does a brilliant job of removing moisture from the air. While it's unlikely to get near 20 litres per day, it pulls large amounts of water from the air - especially at room temperature or higher. It also has a four litre water tank, so you won't need to empty it as often as other models (although this is smaller than the 6 litre Meaco Low Energy 20L). Up/down buttons to control the desired humidity level. Use these buttons to set the relative humidity between 35% and 80%RH. This controls the humidistat, which stops the machine from dehumidifying when the desired humidity is reached, thereby saving energy. ElectrIQ recommend that you set the machine to 50%RH and I see no need to deviate from that.

With a range of domestic dehumidifiers, relatively low prices and some interesting new features (including smart connectivity and antibacterial properties), it's easy to see why consumers are starting to take note of this new company. This isn’t a particularly quiet machine, producing 48dB of sound, which is slightly worse than competitors. Having one fan speed doesn’t help in this regard as there’s no way to reduce the noise when you’ve had enough of it. I wouldn’t want to keep this in the room that I watched television or in the bedroom, but if kept in a hallway or conservatory the sound doesn’t carry far enough to be a problem. One complaint we have about this model is the 5 litre water tank. While this is bigger than most tanks, we would have liked a 6 litre tank considering the high maximum extraction rate. It's also not cheap, so there are probably better options if you don't need the "Smart" features.
