It follows a survivors group having superpowers, however, imprisoned worldwide. Almost 98% of all teenagers and children got killed off by a contagious disease named Idiopathic Adolescent Acute Neurodegeneration. However, Ruby Daly escapes from the prison using her psychic ability to read people’s minds. The Darkest Minds 2: Is It Happening? The series follows a teenage girl named Ruby, a 16-year-old girl with special abilities that she has only just begun to understand. It takes place during the aftermath of a fictional disease known as 'IAAN' which killed most of the children in the United States and left the surviving children with supernatural abilities. Determined to clear her name, Zu finds herself in an uncomfortable alliance with Roman and Priyanka, two mysterious Psi who could either help her prove her innocence or betray her before she gets the chance. A 16-year-old girl named Ruby escapes her camp and joins a group of teenagers fleeing government forces.

As such, it extends the narrative beyond the original trilogy, offering insight into the longer-term impacts of the events in the series and how the characters navigate their world in the aftermath. And I kind of hate Ruby for what she did to Liam in book one. But I still think she is amazing heroine and protagonist. And if everything ends up being well with Liam, and with her and Liam, then maybe I'll forgive her. But she... she shouldn't have done that.
