You also have token-generating effects like Army of the Damned to provide you with enough expendable creatures to sacrifice. If you intend to use Kyler, Sigardian Emissary as a commander, consider Sword of Hours or Fractal Harness in place of Luminarch Aspirant.In addition to these mana fixing lands, there are a few utility lands that could compliment some of the upgrade paths I recommend later in the article. First, there are a few tribal upgrade paths you might be interested. For these, Cavern of Souls, and Unclaimed Territory would make great additions. This is one of the better coven abilities in my opinion since it will net you 3 cards eventually. But of course that’s fairly lame, in card draw terms, drawing 3 cards over 3 turns. Powerful and varied synergies between the cards. A decent number of good tutors. Good mana curve. Has an efficient and consistent way to win on turns 10-12 (level 7) or 7-9 (level 8). Some social rules — like no mass land destruction, no consistent combo wins — still exist. For this article, I'm going to do TWO upgrade guides, one for Leinore +1/+1 Counters and one for Kyler Human Tribal because I love doing double the work I guess. In many ways, Coven Counters feels just like the other precons that came before it: it plays well, it feels synergistic, and there are no glaring problems. With that said, there is always room for improvement!That doesn’t mean that these upgrades are going to necessarily be expensive. However, some cards might end up being a little pricey, and I don’t want to exclude them solely for that reason. Even so, I understand that this conception can be totally arbitrary, besides probably having forgotten one card or another that could easily have made it to the final list. If you think of something I forgot, I'd love to know what it is. Kyler, Sigardan Emissary is the second-in-command in Coven Counters, and makes for a great Human-themed commander. As their power grows, so do of all the humans around them. The +1/+1 counter subtheme fits well with Humans, too, as many of them work with +1/+1 counters already, like Thalia’s Lieutenant. If built correctly, Kyler can be one of the strongest and most aggressive Humans commanders available.
