The story leads us to the life of 15 years old Adrian Mole. His father wants to go to war against Argentina and Adrian was suffering with a model airplane that got glued to his nose. Pandora came to visit him (she’s a few months older than him) but he couldn’t come out looking like he did. Although portrayed as somewhat vain and self-centred, Adrian is the only friend and frequent caretaker of the OAP Bert Baxter, and also shows a great deal of concern and compassion for the misfortunes of his parents and respect for the authority of his grandmother. Mia Fox is Adrian's upstairs neighbour. She is a pretty woman, but is mean and insists on peace at all times. She lives a simple life, and maintains absolute silence from Adrian. She, unlike Professor Green, is not happy with Adrian's arrival. Both Mia and Professor Green get agitated by the loud volume at which Adrian plays his music. She works as an air-traffic controller at East Midlands Airport. Adrian Albert Mole is born 2 April, with the first book establishing the year as 1967. He grows up with his parents in the city of Leicester; before moving to Ashby-de-la-Zouch in England's East Midlands. Adrian's family are largely unskilled working class/ lower middle class. He is an only child until the age of 15, when his half-brother Brett and half-sister Rosie are born. Adrian is not gifted academically but does tolerably well at school, though he does sometimes suffer the ire of headmaster "Pop-Eye" Scruton. Though not especially popular he has a small circle of friends and even a girlfriend Pandora Braithwaite (whose parents Ivan and Tania are affluent Trotskyites). At one point he falls into bad company with Barry Kent and his gang, who had bullied him in earlier years, but generally he keeps out of trouble. Throughout all this Adrian sees himself as an "intellectual" and a thwarted "Great Writer". [1] Sharon Bott (occasionally Botts) is Adrian's second girlfriend and the mother of his first child. She is introduced in Growing Pains as the girl who "will show everything for 50p and a pound of grapes", but Adrian has an unsuccessful date with her set up by Nigel. In True Confessions, Adrian has lost his virginity with Sharon, but it is obvious that neither of them has any interest in the other beyond sex. Sharon starts putting on weight, and she is referred to as overweight in the later books. After it is proven that Adrian fathered Glenn in Cappuccino Years, Sharon re-enters Adrian's life; they maintain a good relationship as parents of Glenn. It is revealed that she has seven siblings, including an older sister, Marjorie, and younger brother, Karak. Her parents are still alive. Mr. Bott is a quiet, polite man, unlike the rest of the Bott family. As Sharon ages, she gains more and more weight until she is described as obese. A character in Lo! The Flat Hills of My Homeland named Sharon Slagg, based on Sharon, is mentioned. While Sharon is still seeing Adrian, she starts seeing Barry Kent on the side, leading to confusion over who Glenn's father is - a blood test revealed that Adrian was indeed the father.

Cassandra Palmer is the shaven-headed wife of Christian Palmer. She has just returned from filming a documentary on mutilation in Los Angeles, where she learns to function on the cutting edge of politically correct. Her return is not gleefully celebrated in the Palmer household. She removed the bolts from the bathroom door and changed the title of Winnie the Pooh to Winnie the Shit. Hugo Fairfax-Lycett is Mangold Parva's local aristocrat. He frequents the Bear Inn and, like many others of his fellow barflies, dislikes the smoking ban. He employs Daisy Mole as his PA, a job she previously held in London. Hugo and Daisy eventually develop feelings for each other and start an affair, leading to Daisy leaving Adrian, with the two sharing custody of their daughter Gracie. The couple decide to convert the land surrounding Fairfax Hall into a safari park, much to the anguish of the villagers. They themselves form a mob and march to Fairfax Hall. Hugo, rather conveniently, decides to go for a spin in his quad bike, but after some hours does not return. Daisy calls Adrian and the villagers form a search party, the men hunting Hugo and the women, George and Adrian staying behind to comfort Daisy. Hugo is found underneath his quad bike, having crashed and suffering from minor concussion. After making a full recovery, he and Daisy open up Fairfax Hall to the public, allowing Nigel and Lance to conduct their wedding there. Hugo has two daughters from a previous marriage. Adrian Mole ( Gian Sammarco) is the main character of the series and also serves as narrator. His character on screen is shown wearing spectacles as well as wearing ties often when not at school, points not mentioned in the book.

Bert Baxter ( Bill Fraser) is Adrian's foul-mouthed and strongly opinionated friend, an old age pensioner whom Adrian has to look after as part of a school club of which he is part. Bert owns an aggressive and unpredictable German Shepherd dog named Sabre, whom Adrian strongly dislikes. Megan Harris is Brown's secretary. She and Brown are having an affair, but Megan entraps Adrian into the role of her only confidant. Megan briefly ends the affair when Brown forgets her birthday, but Brown cycles her to house in the middle of the night and Megan starts the affair again. Megan starts seeing Bill Blane on the side, and the pair are suspended on full pay when Brown catches them in the act of photocopying their private parts. Adrian later suspects her of giving his letter of resignation to Mr. Brown. Private Eye parodied the books with their The Secret Diary of John Major, age 47¾, in which Major was portrayed as naïve and childish, keeping lists of his enemies in a Rymans Notebook called his "Bastards Book", and featuring "my wife Norman" and " Mr Dr Mawhinney" as recurring characters. [11] In addition, Adrian Plass's novel The Sacred Diary of Adrian Aged 37¾ and his autobiography The Growing Up Pains of Adrian Plass parody the titles of two of the Mole books. I had never read The Growing Pains of Adrian Mole (1984) (Adrian Mole #2) and am delighted to report it is every bit as good as the first book. Adrian's raging teenage hormones are now more troublesome than ever. These diaries are mainly set in 1982 and both Margaret Thatcher and the Falklands conflict are incorporated into the more prosaic events of Adrian's day to day life. The Mole family is every bit as dysfunctional as in the first book, and the same characters recur too.the Falklands conflict rages. Bert's swapped medieval squalour for a new bungalow, both Doreen and Pauline have alarming news tor George, and Adrian's mission to demystify the female form ends badly. Adrian learns that 50p and a bag of grapes can't buy you love - but an aptitude tor domestic chores just might. George has an unwelcome letter from the Inland Revenue, and it seems the Moles will be holidaying in Skegness... again

Amanda is Susan Mole's wife and Adrian's aunt by marriage. It is stated that she and Susan married shortly before the beginning of Cappuccino Years and that Adrian attended their wedding reception in the officers' social club at Holloway Prison. He fell in love with his future wife, Pauline Sugden, and they married, having a son, Adrian. Pauline rejected their child for a year, leaving George to look after him, something Adrian never knew until he was middle aged. George took a job selling electrical storage heaters, but he is later made redundant; he later finds re-employment maintaining the banks of the local canal. George, Pauline and Adrian lived together at their house on Wisteria Walk, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire.Reading is a great way to boost your English. Grace is due for parole and expresses her desire to meet Adrian, causing him to panic; but, to his relief, she commits arson at the prison and her parole is cancelled. Having been suspended for a week Adrian's considered worth of Barry Kent's gang. Spending his evenings loitering outside a Chinese takeaway, he thinks he might be tasting real life at last; but is it a double life? And if he were to run away... would anyone notice? Michael Flowers is the husband of Netta, father of Daisy, Poppy and Marigold and grandfather of Gracie. Michael owns a shop on Leicester High Street, County Organics, selling flower seeds. He votes conservative. He wears his hair in a ponytail, to the point where his granddaughter describes him as "a lady with a beard". Michael is a devout believer of all things organic, and does everything he can to prevent using fossil fuels. He invents a product, Orgobeet Juice, but it is rejected by Dragon's Den, much to his disgust. Michael has three daughters: Daisy, Poppy and Marigold. Daisy is the product of his first marriage to the Mexican Conchita, who left him; Poppy and Marigold are the products of his second marriage to Netta. He is an enthusiastic counter-tenor of the local madrigal society. He hates people from and all things to do with Mexico. Michael has a sister and a nephew.

Adrian dedicated himself to his baby sister Rosie Germaine Mole. One night hism other got a phone call from a friend named Lucas and all Adrian heard is the two of them talking about some kind of a blood test. One day George’s mistress waited for Adrian outside his school. She told him that she can’t live with his father anymore and that she’ll be moving in with her ex-husband that has money now and that she’ll marry him as soon as he leaves his wife. You probably already know if this is something that works for you. I think it's very amusing and completely delightful.

Bruce "Brainbox" Henderson is one of Adrian's friends who is good with computers. He starts the school magazine. In later books, he marries Adrian's ex-fiancée (and later sister-in-law) Marigold Flowers. Adrian experiences many different emotions, he grows up and enters the adult world. He describes his relationship with his parents that are far from ideal and in the end he runs away from home. That kind of behavior is typical for a teenager. He felt the courage to stand up to his parents for the first time. Adrian describes his life in poorness and paints the image of a 80’s family. All of the events are written from his perspective.
