About this deal

From “G.W.” (May 2017): “My prior boots were Sidi leather adventure boots with a Gore-Tex liner. Current boots are Dainese with Gore-Tex liner. The Dainese boots actually breathe much better than the Sidi leather boots did, although they use a vinyl pseudo leather instead of the real thing. This is because the vinyl pseudo leather is covered with hundreds of micro perforations to allow moisture from the Gore-Tex layer underneath, to escape. With the Sidi boots reviewed here, I have to wonder how well the boots be able to breathe (expel moisture) despite the Gore Tex, as it is under a layer of non breathable vinyl pseudo leather that is not perforated.”

Incorporating the indispensable features of the original ADV powerhouse Sidi Adventure Gore-Tex Boots, the Sidi Adventure 2 Gore-Tex Boots boast upgrades and refinements in strategic areas without upsetting the recipe that made the original such a standout success. The toe box feels bomb proof, and the heel cup isn’t much different. The sole of the boots features a well-designed tread pattern that performs excellently off-road in all conditions, and just as admirably on-road.Impact armoring and abrasion resistance as needed for adventure riding involving 50% on-road riding and 50% off-road riding. There are few names in motorcycle wear as well known to the average rider as that of Italian boot maker Sidi. Founded in1960they started as a small workshop producing mountain sports footwear and registered their first patent in1966for the first rear entry ski boot. Not many motorcycle boots are capable of delivering exceptional performance both off-road and on-road.

CE-certified as protective motorcycle footwear, the Sidi Adventure 2 Gore-Tex boots are Sidi’s flagship boots for dual-sport riding in which riders are expected to wear the boots off-road and on-road. And my bottom line in 2017? I am equally glad the Sidi Adventure 2 Gore-Tex boots are on my feet, and not just because of how good they are when riding off-road, but for all roads. Are they worth the extra investment over other adventure-touring boots that may be had for half the price (and that may have to be replaced in a couple of years)? These inserts on the “bike side” of the boots also provide better feel for the rider especially when standing on the pegs. Suede absorbs surface moisture to minimize slippery water buildup, so grip or friction is maintained. And just for the record, the Adventure 2 Gore-Tex boots weigh 2.7 kg (6.0 lbs.) total, while the BMW Santiago boots (review) for comparison weigh 2.6 kg (5.7 lbs.) and the REV’IT! Discovery Outdry boots come in at 2.3 kg (5.1 lbs.), making them the lightest of the three. Details and Features Incidentally, such magnificent waterproof performance also lends itself to a high resilience against staining and dirt; that is, the Sidi Adventure 2 Gore-Tex boots take quite a while to look disgustingly dirty! One more thing: the Sidi Adventure 2 Gore-Tex boots will at first feel a tad stiff, especially if you’re not used to high-quality armored adventure boots or dual-sport boots. They’re also not cheap…although the list price has actually dropped since 2013. But you get what is one of the most popular adventure-touring boots that are comfortable, protective and fully waterproof with Gore-Tex breathability. A long time bike fan he knew that there is more to life than trekking and skiing, so in1969Dino jumped into the biking industry in a big way, and aligned Sidi boots with Italy's legendary motorcycle hero, Giacomo Agostini. He was the first rider who helped Sidi advance road race footwear, a tradition that continues to this day with no less than a third of the Moto GP regulars turning up to play in the company’s ever evolving products. With that said, if you’re into your hardcore off-road riding and you ride on the harshest of off-road trails, then I would instead recommend that you step up to the Sidi Crossfire 3 boots that we’ve reviewed as these latter adventure motorcycle boots are far-more armored (especially across the ankles) at the expense of not being as comfortable for road riding.

Despite being completely waterproof, the boot is breathable enough to keep your feet cool during warmer rides. The following are great alternatives as adventure motorcycle boots to the Sidi Adventure 2 Gore-Tex boots that we too recommend after having tested them: I’ve experienced zero quality issues with my Sidi Adventure 2 Gore-Tex boots and every bit in these boots has withstood my off-road abuse that I’ve put the boots through in the last year especially (I retired recently and two of my main hobbies are adventure riding and fishing, so I spend most of my week riding off-road trails). While the idea was to use the Adventure 2 GORE-TEX for longer tours, the truth is that they outperformed expectations and showed that a full-featured boot can in fact be highly versatile. SIDI has improved an already great boot, helping the Adventure 2 GORE-TEX to power to the pointy end of SIDI’s lineup. What We Liked The foot bed is on the narrower side, so, for those of you with very-wide feet, go up by one size. If you have extremely-wide feet, then go instead with the competing Alpinestars Toucan Gore-Tex boots.

The sizing of both Forma and this one is slightly off. I'd recommend going .5 bigger than your usual size. I tried 1 size bigger but it was little large. I also tried size 9 but it was too tight. So .5 was better fit. My feet are slightly wider. The Sidi Adventure 2 Gore-Tex boots are fully waterproof and breathe well in hot weather (and they certainly breathe better than my Alpinestars Tech 7 Drystar boots). So, I’ve owned two pairs of the Sidi Adventure 2 Gore-Tex boots over the last three years, and I have put these Adventure 2 Gore-Tex boots from Sidi through our long-term testing and reviewing paces. And they’re worthwhile additions. For such a cumbersome boot, the Adventure 2 sure feels good on the foot, and once they’re worn in there are no issues with them feeling too stiff or restrictive (though during those first few wears they’ll feel a little stiff). Looking for well-fitting motorcycle footwear was once an exercise in frustration, at least for me and my long narrow feet. But thanks to one or two custom boot makers (remember those?), my feet were comfortably, safely but expensively housed. Shortly after discovering how good and well-fitting Sidi bicycling footwear could be, I discovered the same attributes were to be found in their early motorcycle boots, and thus began my now long-term relationship with the company.
