About this deal

Enter Lina, his new neighbor in town on assignment. She is a traveling large-claims insurance agent. She is a non-committal type who is a bit of a wild child and has no interest in settling down. The following version of this book was used to create the guide: Score, Lucy. Things We Never Got Over. Bloom Books, 2022. Here we have runaway homeless bride appears in small town and conveniently gets everything handed to her by hero man child Knox & is told she is the best thing that ever happened to him ,even though she constantly gets herself in to trouble and needs things. Nooooooo, but that's not stereotypical enough. A sunshine character is quirky!!! She loves coffee! She can't remember where she parked her car! She is so entertaining!! Did I mention she LOOOOOOOOOOVES coffee? Oh I didn't? Don't worry, the author will make her groan and pout 22 times while she's thinking about coffee before chapter 10, and that is just soooooooooo sexy. I couldn't stand the hero or the heroine. Naomi is a perfect goody-two shoes, so beautiful that every single guy has a hard-on for her, so nice that any person who talks to her instantly wants to be her friend. Her fatal flaw is that she cares too much and no one ever cares about her in return. Yawn.

I don't even really want to talk about this book a lot, so I'm just going to list what I didn't like: We hadn’t even had time to get their rooms ready when the call came. Three-year-old Bridget and her brand-new baby sister, Gillian.Me right after finishing Things We Never Got Over: 🤡 I think I’m going to rate this 3.5 stars and round it up to 4 stars 🤡, cause the book was cute after all and had a tons of tropes done well such as The stars of the show here are Nash and Lina, who have their own reasons for not wanting a relationship but seem to feel a magnetic pull toward one another that cannot be denied. To say I had massive expectations is an understatement. I jumped into this knowing I was getting into a romcom. I was waiting for people we meet on vacation feels or Wall of Winnipeg swoons and I got a big pile of the most obnoxious, insufferable writing and plot devices I've seen in a looooong time. The heroine, I liked her, but I would have loved to see her more settled into her own and knowing exactly who she is and what she wants by the end of the book. She does make some decisions but I still feel like she lets the events that happened to her and the people in her life derail most of her individual and personal decisions.

One upside of infertility issues was that I didn’t have to watch my wife suffer through pregnancy hormones. I’d have handled her tears, but probably not well. Sloane was feeding the baby a bottle while Bridget sat in the center of the table, eating a bowl of cut-up grapes. My daughters were surrounded with love and strong, smart women.

Waylay’s boyfriend, Theo, stepped forward and pulled her into his side. I glared at him, but it didn’t have the heat it usually did. “Theo,” I said. There is a happily ever after, and not only do we get one epilogue, BUT ALSO A BONUS EPILOGUE. Seriously, in that bonus epilogue?!?!? With Way and Knox and the way they spoke to each other?! OH MY GOD MY HEART EXPLODED!! The agency called three days ago and said we had two little girls ready to join the family,” I explained. “We didn’t want to tell anyone until we got them home.” One other criticism I have and seem to share with other readers is that Nash and Lina fall hard and fast for one another but don’t have many scenes where they are really talking and getting to know one another. I simply got the impression that these two characters did not know much about one another apart from mind-blowing sex. Drama is not welcome in Knox's life, even when it arrives in the form of a runaway bride seeking refuge.
