tent or canopy】this space can accommodate 10 -12 people tent. it is very suitable for family gatherings, festivals, weddings, camping, and any time you need to bask in the sun in the hot summer. We where away for 4 days and I have to say she got an awful lot of attention from other campers and children who wanted to know if Harry Potter and Dobby where inside lol The tent is a fantastic buy, the only niggles (and they are minor) is that the guy ropes are a bit cheap (which are the same as the bell tents), for the price of the tent surely they could have put rope with wooden sliders on it like C&C do. The other one is that the mesh for the windows is on the cheap side as well. The Hi Gear Emperor Tent is a huge premium polycotton bell tent designed to be the ultimate home from home for glamping getaways and camping trips with family and friends.
Size: diameter 4m bell tent, the top height of 250 cm, side wall height of 60 cm, door high of 150cmcm. it is a polygonal base, (can place 2 queen size bed, or 1queen size bed with 2 single size bed), weight of 28kg. for 1-2 person within 20-30 minutes to set up. Corners of doors have a flap that allows power cables into the tent without having to make a hole or affect flood-proofing As far as putting her up is concerned I was in dread of our first camping trip, but I shouldn't have been. Upon arrival I unloaded the tent and was immediately approached by a 5m bell tent owner who offered to give a hand (thank you Paul) and we had her up in about 25mins. Beyond this door and out into the front of the tent is the vestibule area. This also has Plenty of windows as well as the optional ground sheet. This area is more than large enough, we had a camping table and stove set up in there without any problems. We even had two adult bikes stored in the front area at one point. The quality is to the same high standard you would expect from Belltent.Co.Uk. The stitching is bang on, the cotton while not being the heaviest is a good quality and all the metal frames are solid. We also had a few heavy showers whilst away with no leaks. (canvas needs a wetting to make it water tight, or so they say). The vestibule area also has its own roll up zipped front door, so you can completely close the Lavvu when required. So in all, this tent has three sections to it, those being the vestibule, the inner living area and then the divided bedroom and if you want to add the space underneath the tarp, there are 4 sections in which to have a very versatile and enjoyable camping experience. Did we not mention the tarp? ……….. The groundsheet is heavy duty (although we prefer to put down an additional groundsheet underneath before pitching, especially on gravelly or stony ground). Rugs, lighting, low tables, cushions are a must to give it the bohemian vibe. It has an incredible nomadic feel. Despite its size it is a remarkably easy tent to pitch. We came to the conclusion that the front A Frame should be put in place and pegged out then the two joint central poles should be put in followed by the remaining A Frames. It took us about 30-40 minutes on our first pitch and that was mostly tying the guys on. I think a 20 minute pitch time is a realistic expectation, while slightly more complicated than a normal Bell it really isn't that complicated. Then I fell in love with the Outwell Vermont XL. We asked about the L model, but I think the price difference dowsnt reflect the size difference and we may aswell pay the extra and get the larger one. But Im worried it would be TOO large. We firstly looked at a Sprayway, which fulfilled all the criteria, but after seeing the Outwell tents, the Sprayway just looked really shoddy and not very good quality. Even one of the sales advisors told us to stay clear of it. The Emperor is a fantastic tent! It is a tardis that while only a couple of square meters more area than a 5m Bell, that space is pretty much all usable. The pictures on Belltent.Co.Uk don't do it justice and while I have tried to remedy this, you simply must see one of these in the flesh to appreciate just how large it is. The ground sheet in this tent is fitted, except for in the front vestibule area. This part has a separate groundsheet and gives you the option as to whether you want to fit it or not. It might be nice to have a bit of grass under your feet whilst sat under your tent, or at times when the weather doesn't allow or it’s not something you would like to have, just fit the supplied ground sheet, the option is yours.Following our trip at the weekend to the Ripley tent exhibition, we are now in the throes of looking into purchasing a new camping abode.
