About this deal

I’d like to get a compatible card with GDDR5 memory, but on trying to find a replacement I’m beginning to wonder if it’s even possible to find a single slot-width card with GDDR5. Half of the online photos for graphics cards do not show an edge-on perspective that indicates slot/component height at all, but it appears that anything better than GDDR3 must have an enormous – and deal-killing – heat sink on it? Given that it’s difficult even to find GDDR3 cards with these dimensional constraints, I’m not optimistic.

Things to consider while researching for a dedicated GPU upgrade for your Dell OptiPlex desktop: GPU power rating Currently the most powerful graphics card you can install on OptiPlex 3020, 7020, 9020 SFF is the RTX A2000. It’s a workstation card that performs close to RTX 3050 but consumes 70 watts. It’s essentially a cut down version RTX 3050 that comes in both 6GB or 12GB versions. Next in our lineup is the EVGA GeForce GT 1030 SC 2GB GDDR5 low profile graphics card. This particular model is a great all-rounder if you’re looking for a low profile graphics card that’s capable of taking on varied tasks. One of the best features of a low profile graphics card is that they are so much quieter than their standard, full-sized counterparts. Whereas a standard GPU could potentially make a lot of noise when the fans are whirring to try and cool the unit down, an LP GPU will be able to keep itself cooler at a much-reduced volume. These types of graphics cards don’t tend to produce as much heat as their full-sized counterparts, which could also play a factor in why they’re not as noisy as the fans have less work to do.XFX Radeon RX 550 4GB Low Profile is one of the most powerful low-profile graphics cards from AMD on this list. Radeon RX 550 is a budget graphics card from AMD that is built on the latest Polaris GPU architecture. The card comes with 512 Stream Processors and 4GB GDDR5 memory.

The Power Supply Unit (PSU) must be powerful enough to cope with your system. If you install a dedicated GPU, make sure that your PSU is able to supply the extra power. Another great feature of this particular low profile graphics card is that it comes with a 3 year warranty as well as 24/7 technical support from the manufacturer. Perfect if you’re looking for a graphics card that’s going to give you a little bit more peace of mind! I ended up now with ASUS GeForce GTX 1650 OC Low Profile in the living room for gaming and multimedia and MSI GeForce GT 1030 2GB LP OC in my working room for work and (low/medium settings) gaming. Los términos HDMI, HDMI High-Definition Multimedia Interface (Interfaz multimedia de alta definición), HDMI Trade Dress (diseño e imagen comercial HDMI) y los logotipos HDMI son marcas comerciales o marcas registradas de HDMI Licensing Administrator, Inc. After this I had MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GT LP and a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 Ti OC LP 4G which performed perfectly for 1 year.

The card comes with 2GB 64-bit GDDR5 memory which is more than enough for video editing, photo editing, and normal gaming on medium settings. Unlike GT 710 this card can run older and mid-level games like Skyrim, Call of Duty, Far Cry, and CSGO on medium-high settings at 720p and 1080p. The card temperature remains well under 60 degrees even at full load. It does not need external PCIe connectors and comes with VGA, DVI, and HDMI display ports. GeForce GT 740 is another powerful budget graphics card. Both GT 730 and GT 740 have 385 CUDA Cores but then also GT 740 is faster than GT 730 because of the newer GPU architecture and greater memory interface of 128-bit.
