There are several jumpy moments that will give the YA reading this goosebumps, and I for one loved them. I know this is middle grade young adult but at times you forget the characters ages especially when they are exorcising ghosts! This was a great start to the series and I can't wait to read more of Alex and watch his psychic abilities grow with the help of his aunt. It sounds incredible – but Bennetts, who says she understands why people might find her tale hard to swallow, is adamant that it all happened, just as shown in the TV series (apart from the fact that, in the show, Bennetts – played by Katie Jarvis – smashes down the wall, rather than just pulling her daughter through it). NOTE: “Anywhere else” includes landing on the X, landing on the line between the X and the O, missing the paper entirely, etc. While you don’t want to scare them, you don’t want them in communication with an evil spirit.
