There are fabulous stand-alone set pieces, engaging characters, glorious prose and a soul-stirring look into the various lives of human. This is an immensely readable novel. The author way of developing the characters is impressive and his characters are well drawn and compelling.Most "DARK' romances, are not usually all that dark... Well not my kinda of dark. There needs to be a level of violence with a dark romance... If you fall in-love with the H/h who is supposed to be the bad guy, in like chapter 2, well that just defeats the purpose of having a villain right.. So much happens throughout, it is impossible to fully encapsulate. But at its heart, this is a wildly passionate tale of dark, obsessive love that ignites between a ruthless, world renowned arms dealer and the innocent, pure-hearted beauty he kidnaps at 18 and spirits away to his remote private island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. I first read book 1 in this series a couple years ago and for some reason I was unable to connect with the characters.

This book is amongst the most adored and famous works that Anna Zaires has come out with, thus far. It is a potent tale that you can be sure won’t leave any reader with a steady heartbeat. It is the first novel in a series of the same name, which, in and of itself, is composed of three novels in total. Twist Me book was published in the year of 2014. But why her? Why would somebody like him (gorgeous, rich and seemingly in control) need to kidnap her? And who is he, exactly? ‘Cause he appears to be someone very important. So yes, I give this trilogy 5/5 stars. It's a fast read and I definitely recommend anyone with an open mind to jump in and read it. If, I hadn't read that little teaser for the next book I wouldn't be torn. I would have, straight out, not liked this book because Julian did really ugly things to Nora and she was just wide open accepting and enjoying everything (with one or two half-hearted rebellion attempts). I was never convinced that he had any feelings for her as an individual person, it was all about him and his dead friend. He successfully moulded her into his pet and that was what he called. She looked like someone he had loved and he made her into his sexual plaything, moulded her entire identity, sexual and otherwise. She wasn't the least bit concerned about her parents or anything else afterwards. TWIST ME: The Complete Trilogy by Anna Zaires is hands down the most spellbinding DR series I have ever read! Addictive and passionate, dark and twisted, filled with tantalizing romance, palpable danger, thrilling suspense and SCORCHING HOT sensuality...it is a MUST read!!!!

My love for Anna Zaires exploded after reading Mia & Korum trilogy and so I was very excited to read this trilogy even though it was dark romance instead of fantasy/sci-fi. And after reading the Twist me series I can unequivocally say that Anna Zaires is now amongst my top 5 favourite authors of all time. When on a date with the guy whom she’s had a crush one for some time, something completely unexpected occurs. Nora Leston is kidnapped. Who may the perpetrator be? Julian Esguerra, of course. Our H is a totally mysterious but likeable A-hole for the things he do to the h... I was totally wrapped in the story the entire book.

The story is relayed to us via Nora’s narration. She speaks with many an emotion. She feels out of her comfort zone, at her wits’ end, scared, terrified, but there is also an edge of hers that finds the whole thing thrilling. While she was petrified of Julian during the initial stages of the abduction, she comes to see him as a somewhat pleasant, candid, and oddly loving person that cares for Nora. Besides, for now it’s kind of fun to just enjoy the attraction. And I know that’s what this feeling is. Lust. Hormones, pure and simple. I have no idea if I’ll like Jake as a person, but I certainly love how he looks without his shirt. Whenever he walks by, I feel my heart beating faster from excitement. I feel warm inside, and I want to squirm in my seat.

I adored the progression of the story, how with every chapter and book we see Nora and Julian's relationship have a new depth and element. Both characters were so well written and the development was top notch. The writing was amazing, the storyline enthralling and the book was just an all round incredible read. Book 3 however....you guys know how we loved the fast & furious movies but the later movies were some next level over top impossible stunts that left you confused. That’s how I felt about book 3. It’s everywhere. The pool of dark red liquid on the floor is spreading, multiplying. It’s on my feet, my skin, my hair . . . I can taste it, smell it, feel it covering me. I’m drowning in blood, suffocating in it.Jake might be, though. He’s just too popular not to be a player. Still, if there’s anybody I’d want to have my first time with, it’s definitely Jake. Leah rolls her eyes. “Yeah, yeah. Just go talk to him already. You’re not shy. Why don’t you just make him notice you?” Now that I’m almost eighteen, I don’t have a curfew anymore. It was better reading all 3 books together. What I liked about this series is that there is very little repetition (regarding previous novel) but TBH, the entire story is just sex. The H is an absolute horn bag. All he thinks about is how to get into her pants and looking for excuses to punish her. On the steam level, this book is 5. Don’t expect for h to ever dominate the H in anything- he always have the upper hand- on top of her in bed, in 1 on 1 training and even when they are in danger. She does assess which battles to fight. She’s smart but still a doormat. Manipulation and lying doesn’t work because she’s easy to read. The H is an anti-hero, a true bad guy who enjoys torturing men (he talks about it) and loves every moment when he kills his enemies. In real life I don’t think any sane, intelligent woman would want to have a relationship with someone like that. In a novel, when it’s another person, that’s a different story.
