Read more: Bowers & Wilkins PX7 review Headphones for TV: FAQs How can I listen to TV with wired headphones? If you are not satisfied with these headphones, you can opt for some alternatives that I am going to mention below. Alternative to RS 175 Headphones Reduce the distance between the headphones and the transmitter if there are occasional sound cut-offs. If you insert a non-rechargeable battery into the compartment, it may leak during charging and damage the headphone. Lastly as they are wireless they of course have a battery, and with the supplied rechargeable batteries you’ll be looking at around 18 hours of life before you have to place them on the cradle and get a nice charge on.

The two headphones take different paths in only three areas: sound quality, sound isolation, and analog connectivity, with the latter being the most trivial. The RS 175 provide better sound isolation, with better passive noise isolation and lower sound leakage. Meanwhile, the RS 185 are better-sounding overall, with a more pleasant and better-balanced, not to mention less bass-heavy, sound profile. While both headphones include an analog cable for their transmitters, they use different types of cables. Sound Increase the volume of the analog audio source to at least a medium level or disable the mute function. If your smart TV has Bluetooth it’s tempting to use a pair of Bluetooth headphones to watch TV. That can work, but there’s often some lag, which causes a lip-sync issue. However, that’s not a major issue if you’re going to listen to music instead. Cue the PX7, which adopt Qualcomm’s aptX Adaptive codec to further reduce latency on the Bluetooth connection. With three strengths of noise cancellation, the PX7s are also handy to use in noisy environments, and can also play audio via a USB connection from a computer… or from any phone or tablet. So, you can be relaxed even if you forget to remove the headphone from the holder. Wireless Transmission They offer an incredible range of features which allows me to enjoy music and television Like never before!

Before buying a wireless RF headphone, you need to know its sound quality, specification, pros and cons, wireless range, unique features, durability, and many more. The RS 185 use the same low-latency wireless technology used by the RS 175, with their transmitter also capable of connecting to two audio sources and pairing with two compatible headphones at the same time. Their wireless range is just as good as that of the RS 175 while their transmitter similarly offers analog and digital connection options, but with a different cable type for the former. All in all, the RS 185 are the better wireless TV headphones, with their worse noise isolation and higher sound leakage being their only notable disadvantages. The RS 175's digital transmission quality, which uses frequency modulation over 2.4-2.8GHz to transmit audio fed to the charging base to the headphones, is nearly flawless, and it's easy to forget you're listening to wireless headphones. The actual sound signature of the drivers is very crisp and bright, and when Bass mode is activated, quite rich and powerful in the lows, as well. The transmission strength is also solid; Sennheiser estimates the range at roughly 330 feet, which is both insanely good and very hard to confirm in New York City. I had no problem walking into different rooms of my apartment, closing the door, and receiving audio with no disruption. The signal played flawlessly through walls, which means you can expect few, if any, interruptions in your living room.

If you’re keen to find a great way to get the most out of your movies without disturbing your neighbours, the Sennheiser HDR RS 175 could be just the thing. It provides a livelier and dimensional sound that gives you a home theatre feel. It also has a good treble and decent mid-range.
