About this deal

It seems that the Advantage 360 can be adjusted with remapped keys and by using keycaps from the Advantage 2 Nordic layout, but it seems like this might not be the best experience all in all. At the same time, I can't help but to feel that the Advantage 2 is a bit dated, especially regarding the design and feel and with the 360 to compare against. The Advantage 2 has some advatanges like an extra row of keys, only one unit etc. While being a developer, I don't really see myself going all in on layers and programming, so don't think that missed ZMK of the wireless version is a deciding factor, while wireless in itself is nice. The Advantage360 is the first Kinesis keyboard with integrated tenting capability. It has three settings, the lowest one being the same as Advantage2. There is a button underneath you need to press to change the setting, and it's effortless to change the keyboard's height instantly. The Advantage360 tenting with the highest setting. Tap the Program Key to exit Program Remap Mode (Program Remap Mode will remain active and accept remap pairs until you tap the Program key to exit) Separating the key-wells positions the arms at shoulder-width to keep wrists straight and perpendicular to the home row. Typing with straight wrists is essential in avoiding injuries because it reduces abduction and ulnar deviation which can lead to pain and injury. Press and hold the Program key and tap F12 to enter Program Remap Mode (lights will begin flashing rapidly). Release the Program Key

It's not cheap, but neither was my initial Advantage2. However, it's something I use daily, sometimes up to 8 hours, and I think purchasing and spending this kind of money is OK if it's part of your daily job. At least for me. Wireless Split Design I've found the Moonlander MK1 from ZSA, an ergonomic split keyboard. I also wrote a review about it if you're interested: My review of the Moonlander MK1 keyboard I've used the Moonlander for like 6-12 months; However, it wasn't for me, not because of the quality or hardware, but the design didn't work out for my small hands. So, I switched again to a new keyboard. This premium-grade ergonomic keyboard, available from Keyboard Specialists Ltd (KBS) is designed with contoured keys and low profile mechanical switches. The keyboard also attempts to take advantage of your thumbs by putting many of the "hold it down to activate" keys under the strongest fingers. Most keyboards only really want you to use your thumbs for the spacebar (and most people only use one thumb, at that). The key-wells are scooped into a concave shape to reduce hand and finger extension. Hands rest in a natural, relaxed position, with the fingers curled down to the keys. Keycap heights are varied to match the different lengths of your fingers. The result is less muscle tension and a shorter reach for keys which increases efficiency and reduces fatigue. The Kinesis Advantage 2 helped me type again. That's the greatest endorsement I could give to any keyboard. Until I discovered the world of thousand dollar keyboards (I don't have one, but I do watch TaehaTypes), I thought the Advantage was the best keyboard money could buy. The key wells have been scooped into a concave shape which means hands and fingers are able to relax into a natural posture, curled down towards the keys. Key heights are varied to match differing finger lengths which shortens keyboard reach and reduces over-extension. The home row of keys is colour coded and sculpted so you can find them without taking your eyes off the screen. The only programability feature that I have really used is the ability to switch between QWERTY and Dvorak keyboard layouts automatically. This allows you take your keyboard anywhere and type in Dvorak whether your employer feels like installing that keyboard layout on your machine or not.

The keys are arranged in vertical columns (rather than staggered) to better reflect the natural motion of your fingers. What these design choices amount to is what makes typing on the Kinesis Advantage such a great experience: you never have to move your hands away from the home row. Programmable. Select 100 heavy-duty macros (200+ characters long). / 2 MB onboard (non-volatile) memory. · Cables: Honestly, I'm baffled they sent us a USB-A to USB-C. I welcome the USB-C ports on the Advantage360; however, I wish it was a USB-C to USB-C cable. The cable quality is very lovely, though, and it's braided. I plan to use blank keycaps in the feature because, with all the customizations I made (more on this later), it doesn't make sense to use them. I also never look up the keyboard, so printed keycaps have little use. Advantage2 vs the Advantage360
