About this deal

You’ll get a big, solid machine – much closer to the size you’ll find in the gym than it is to those flimsy budget models. The running belt is extra wide (at a full 52cm) and the 140cm length means taller users can run comfortably. The machine weighs in at a full 84kgs. This is 3x the weight of cheap treadmills. Continuing to visually inspect the assembled machine, the design of the console also stands out: There is a large main panel (which is standard) and then there is a smaller panel mounted on the front it featuring all of the controls. Apart from looking great, this is a very clever innovation as it makes all the buttons needed to be accessed whilst running much easier to reach!

Despite this larger scale, DKN have nevertheless managed to keep the EzRun’s footprint surprisingly small. Unfolded, it measures in at 183cm x 143cm x 85cm. It’s no pigmy, but it’s far more compact than its usage would suggest. Folded up, this goes down to a mere 116cm x 143cm x 85cm, making it perfectly storable. EzRun Treadmills come 95% assembled. A big plus for those of us that are not DIY-minded (or just want to get running without the bother). DKN EzRun Treadmills: Incline and Cushioning In terms of looks, the Omega Z really stands out. Boasting a sleek design with subtle accents, and showcasing a practical elegance that will seamlessly complement just about any room this treadmill will fit neatly into most any setting. It really does look quite unique which is something of an accomplishment as lets face it, a lot of treadmills simply look the same! The construction, unsurprisingly, feels robust and this model instils confidence in its durability from the first time you step up onto it. The treadmill is powered by a true 1.75HP continuous duty motor with a 3.5HP peak. Although this is considerably less than its nearest rival the JTX Sprint 7, it does surpass the 1.5HP minimum that we would be happy to recommend at this price point and it is cheaper than its competitor. It does match the JTX Sprint 7 for speed though and can reach a top speed of 20KPH.Overall, therefore, I would highly recommend the EzRun for any larger athletes looking to open up a caloric deficit and slim down, for any newcomers looking for a safe, reliable way to train, and for those more intermediate runners looking for a model that will last them a long time as they pound the miles away. Well, you shouldn’t worry about the size of this beast because it can comfortably fit in your confined space. Features When I tested the machine I was also able to link it directly to Zwift, a training app where your avatar runs around the virtual world of Watopia, or digitised versions of real places like London and New York. However, the machine is not listed as compatible with Zwift anyone, which is a huge shame, because this was a big selling point for me and I did all my running on it while linked to Zwift. The speed can be adjusted from 1-20km/h and this makes it super easy to transition from a slow walk to a fast run. The heart rate programmes work really well and the Three Peaks Challenge and Fartlek Training are challenging but enjoyable workouts that are built in as standard.

There are 19 onboard workouts built into the console providing a really good set of training options. With the workouts being divided into practical and easy to understand categories the Omega Z makes it easy to select the workout that’s going help you reach your goals. Instead of fancy names like ‘rolling hills’ the selection is between manual mode, 4 pulse based options, 3 calory burn based options, 2 interval training based options, 1 weight Loss option, 2 target heart rate workouts, 2 target step based workouts and 3 target distance based options. In addition there’s also 1 custom option that enables you to create and save your own program. We found the workouts enjoyable and varied enough to keep you entertained as well as delivering a workout that really gets the job done. The simple controls mean that it could not be easier to operate too so it’s very much a case of step up and run here, with no fuss at all. Known for premium quality machines, DKN treadmills rarely disappoint. So, when we heard about a new model being launched, we were naturally quite excited and couldn’t wait to get our hands it. To make sure these runners can stand up to tough workouts, the team brought the market leaders into their lab for a thorough assessment. Each one was tested by people of varying body shapes, fitness levels and running experience. The EzRun Treadmill is easy and quite fun to use. You certainly don’t feel like you’re using a machine that cost less than a thousand pounds – it feels more like a gym quality, permanent fixture bought for a couple of grand. It reaches speeds up to 16km/h, which is fast enough for most, and it can ramp up or slow down the pace during the pre-set workouts (there are 36 in total) and your own routines. There are no incline or decline options, so it’s not one for advanced runners, but it is a reliable, affordable option for those who want to spice up their home workouts.Horizon Fitness is one of the most venerable of cardio fitness brands out there. A pioneering brand, dedicated to helping individuals of all fitness levels move towards a healthier and more active lifestyle. With a reputation for innovation and an unwavering commitment to producing high-quality products, Horizon Fitness has earned a trusted reputation within the fitness industry. Their product range encompasses an array of top-tier cardio machines that are designed to elevate workout experiences and enable users to reach their fitness goals. Whether you’re a seasoned fitness enthusiast or a novice just starting out, their product catalogue has something for you so we took a look at the Horizon Omega Z model to see what one of their mid-range models looks like up close. Here’s what we found… Hi Keir, I thought I had posted the response but obviously not! TLDR; It doesn’t work natively with Zwift…I bought the Runn and have been very happy with that. Other features include a workout cooling fan which isn’t all that powerful but does work reasonably well once you’ve worked up a bit of a sweat, a dual water bottle holder (the value of which shouldn’t be understated) and speakers with a 3.5mm input for plugging in your music player. It has an AC motor, which means more power and less maintenance than a DC motor. AC motors are more common in commercial machines, while DC is generally used for home treadmills. As usual, before you can go for a run, the Horizon Omega Z needs to be assembled. Unusually, putting this treadmill together is an absolute breeze. Requiring only three assembly steps to get it up and running, the instructions are very clear and easy to follow with well-illustrated diagrams that ensure a hassle-free setup. Once built, this is a really robust bit of kit that feels like it’s going to sail through most things you can throw at it, even during your most intense workouts. Nice!
