Josh Brolin signed a four-film deal to play Cable, and described his appearance here as just the introduction for the character, with "three more movies to reveal more." Cable's surname, Summers, could hint at his relation to Cyclops (Scott Summers), like in the comics. Whether they are related in the X-Men Movies is unknown.
