On occasion, you'll have connections to make but it can still be helpful to talk to all available parties before making connections Examinations: The player can collect information by examining suspects and paying attention to what they say, how they say it and how they feel. Gedeon had one of the Major's cigars → The Major wanted to calm down = Gedeon possibly stole a cigar Ernesto and Cassandra's friendship → Cassandra more than a friend to Ernesto = Ernesto's love is a well-kept secret

The rest of the game is quite painful though. Poirot is a gentleman built for comfort rather than speed, so it's understandable that he doesn't gallop around the game, but that's no reason for every other interaction to happen at a stately speed as well. If the game allowed interactions at the same speed as any other game, it would be twice as much fun and take a third of the time. There are only connections available to be made if you see a number greater than zero in the top-left icon when on a Mind MapThat is, if they move their mouths at all. By the later game, cutscenes are played out by characters whose faces hardly move, which is actually better. The game leans into its 3D characters and environments but they’re just not up to the level of scrutiny this invites. Other minor irritations include characters vanishing from the scene after talking, Poirot opening non-existent doors to change areas, and his internal monologue sounding like it’s coming from the next room.
