About this deal

Midsomer Murders: In "Blood Wedding", Barnaby goes to question The Vicar only to find him flagellating himself in church. In The Da Vinci Code, Silas the Albino flogged himself to a bloody pulp out of a sense of religious fanaticism. Placed under Quinn's command, Flynn participates in the capture of a galleon, then discovers that the 'cargo' is a virginal Indian princess (Alice Kelley), who'd never been close to a man before, other than her father. Having Errol Flynn as a 'first' provides another point of humor, as, after he gives her a platonic kiss, she nearly swoons, and begins incessantly begging, "AGAIN!" (A chant O'Hara would take up, as the film's final line). As this was done tongue in cheek it gave the players a chance to indulge in a bit scenery chewing. Especially Anthony Quinn who digests a whole dining room set. Flynn gets by on his usual charm and O'Hara looks like a dominatrix in those skin tight thigh high boots she had to wear.

In Ace Attorney, Franziska has a habit of whipping Gumshoe to punish him for his (frequent) incompetence. Of course, she also has a habit of whipping foolish fools for spouting foolishly foolish nonsense - meaning, of course, everyone in this game. She whips Phoenix into unconsciousness when she loses her first trial. On the other hand, Quinn overplays his character like he's trying for an Academy Award, but comes across like he's in a broad comedy. Despite her beauty, O'Hara's charms escape me at the best of times, and here she got on my nerves every time she was on screen. I have never been into her ''spitfire" persona, regardless of which movie she trots it out for. But as I said Errol Flynn is not the only thing which for me is wrong with "Against All Flags" and the over the top colourful nature of the outfits makes it again feel like it is desperately hanging on to the past and has gone over the top to do so almost achieving the look of a pantomime. Look there is no denying that Maureen O'Hara's costumes are certainly eye catching but as a collective with all the colourful outfits than the other characters wear it is all too much and makes it feel forced and amusingly too pristine with crisp white shirts and so on. Star Wars: The Clone Wars has these combined with electricity in the 'Slaves of the Republic' three-episode arc, adapted from the comic of the same name. It takes about five electro whips to subdue Anakin when he is captured, and also at one point, he has to figure out how to get out of being asked to whip a captive Obi-Wan with one to show his loyalty while disguised as a slaver himself. They were also frequently employed by the overseers in the mines Obi-Wan and Rex were sent to.In Starship Troopers, Rico is subject to "administrative punishment" after he bungles a live-fire training exercise, resulting in the death of another cadet. This consists of being strung up and whipped ten times. Dialog early in the movie indicates this is relatively standard fare, with Rico's father indicating he'd rather be lashed in the public square rather than have Rico join the MI. Bungo to Alchemist: Ozaki Kōyō is a whip fighter who often refers to fighting enemies as "disciplining" them. I'll Never Tell You What I'm Telling You!: Hawke asks the disguised Princess Patma what her name is. Patma goes blank and then tells him that she cannot remember what name MacGregor told her to give, but she does remember that she is not supposed to say she is the daughter of the Moghul Emperor. This seems to genuine naiveté (or stupidity) on Patma's case, rather than any desire to expose her true identity. In the role of the rival and hot-headed pirate is Anthony Quinn--playing a very typical role for him as well. However, despite his having made quite a few films in similar circumstances, he was quite well-suited to the role. Vagg, Stephen (November 30, 2019). "The Films of Errol Flynn: Part 5 – On the Bum, 1950-1955". Filmink.

Fed to the Beast: Hawke, Harris and Jones are tied to tidal posts to be devoured by crabs. Spitfire declares she wants to kill Hawke herself, so rides over and seems to stab him, while actually cutting his ropes. This is also the best form of stress relief in the church, and it's pretty severe to the point you wonder how it doesn't affect their performance. Anyone who undergoes it mentions shedding plenty of blood, which also implies plenty of painful scars. One negative side effect of a session in the Penance Chamber is to suffer a temporary reduction in bleeding resistance. Compare Cold-Blooded Torture and Don't Make Me Take My Belt Off!. Contrast with Whip of Dominance. A form of Corporal Punishment. Not to be confused with an online " flog", which is a fake blog designed for advertising. Human Shield: As Roc attempts to sail out of Diego Suarez under the British guns, he has the Princess Patma tied to the rails of his ship so that the British dare not fire.

The Digimon Emperor tortured Takeru with his whip in the episode "The Darkness Before Dawn" of Digimon Adventure 02. Takeru stopped the whipping by catching the end of the whip with his bare hand. The film is beautifully made in technicolour and both O Hara and the Princess look lovely. Quinn is snarling and Flynn is a gentleman on screen at least.
