About this deal

White trees evidently catch their eyes, and they are considerably desired in many regions not only for their distinctive appearance but also for their strength, beauty, and their produce. Common names with plants can get confusing, so I would like to clear up any confusion regarding Northern White Cedar and Eastern Red Cedar– they are completely different species, from different genus. Also, they typically grow in different habitats/growing conditions, although there can be much cross over. But I personally do not fertilize my Northern White Cedar trees at my home. They are all doing great. Identification and Characteristics of White Cedar Stalk / Bark It can be found in several regions as it is considered to be a durable species that can withstand both hot and cold climates.

Curtis, James D. “ Preliminary observations on northern white cedar in Maine.” Ecology 27.1 (1946): 23-36. This Crabapple tree grows 15 to 20-feet high and 20 to 25-feet wide. It needs full sun to keep it healthy, and favors well-drained acidic soil. It predominantly grows in zones four through eight. Starting in April, the pink buds open and turn into fragrant flowers. Some other common choices include the river birch, silver poplar, the trembling aspen, the snow gum, and much more. This 10 by 10-inch crabapple tree is small enough to fit in small landscapes or next to sidewalks in groups or individually. This self-fertile tree rarely needs pruning. It has a moderate growth rate and sprouts white flowers from pale pink buds and red fruit, which can tolerate colder temperatures. It needs at least six hours of full sun and partial shade and is partial to moist, well-drained soil. It grows well in zones three through seven. Japanese Crepe Myrtle These trees thrive in moist, tropical enviornments. Scientific name: Lagerstroemia subcostata var. fauriei

The Star Magnolia is a perfect specimen tree for the yard, reaching 15 to 20 feet tall. White star-shaped flowers bloom from March to April before the dark green, obovate leaves replace them. Because of its early blooming, late spring frost can harm it. Leighton, Anna L., and Anna L. Leighton. “Wild plant use by the Woods Cree (Nihithawak) of east-central Saskatchewan.” (1985): pp. 62Like many popular landscaping trees and plants, Northern White Cedar has had many cultivars made from selection or hybridization. There are over one hundred different cultivars available around the world, most names contain the word “Arborvitae”. If you have ever been to America, I can almost guarantee that you have seen these varieties even if you didn’t realize it. Arborvitae Hedge in suburban America

Some types of birch trees produce brown or beige-colored bark or dark bark in general, but there are a few with white parts and trunks. The Robinia can be the perfect solution if you need a filler tree. Standing 30 to 50 feet high and 20 to 35 feet wide, it can fill in spots too small for other trees. It produces clusters of fragrant flowers, eight inches long in late spring to early summer. The branches would be steamed to alleviate cold symptoms, to comfort women after childbirth, and to help relieve toothaches. Radulović, Niko S., et al. “ Toxic essential oils.
