About this deal

First job was to remove the old system that has done a great job over the last 3 years, producing content videos and also assisting in footage for rider training. Putting the two systems side by side you can see that the VIOFO is slightly bigger. GPS Info Stamp – this information records speed (km/h or mph) and coordinates displayed as latitude and longitude data. The remote control of the dashcam is positioned in a practical place. This makes it possible to safely start recordings while driving, including in emergency situations. Because the dashcam supports SD cards up to 256GB you never run out of space. This dashcam comes standard with a 32GB SD card. All recordings are easy to transfer to your mobile thanks to the handy Wi-Fi function. The dashcam is also easy to operate and the settings can be changed in an instant using the Viofo app. The dashcam for your motorcycle that provides proof and safety!

Manual Recording – a short press on the REC button (Red LED) on the remote control enters manual recording mode indicated by the LED going to a rapid Red flashing. But even with closing speeds of over 100mph, in daylight it’s usually possible to pause a clip and clearly read a number plate.

mainly defined as 3920 (or 3840 for most monitors) x 2160 is extremely more taxing on the computer than Full HD, especially with 60 fps (about four times more than with Full HD). The Remote Control is positioned on the left mirror stalk, for easy access and its cable runs down along the left side OE bundle, around the left side of the steering head and then over to the subframe, joining up with the GPS module and front camera cables.

Note: This DashCam has No Screen. User Can connect mobile to this DashCam’s Hotspot and then use VIOFO app for all the operations. If you’re looking to capture the joy of a great ride then a helmet-mounted camera is the way to go. Helmet-mounted cameras capture a first-person view of your journey; the camera moves as you move and looks where you look, resulting in a more active experience. Body-mounted cameras offer a broadly similar feel, albeit from a slightly lower perspective and without quite so much influence from your movements. Storage Media –part way through the review the provided 32GB media got swapped out for a spare 64GB card adding more space and time of course. Although storage media can be formatted outside of the camera, its often best to insert the media into the camera and utilize the ‘Format SD Card’ setting under the Settings. The quality of the connections appear better and because they are all colour coded it makes for a very easy installation so still no need to read the manual. One of the downsides to hard wiring cameras onto your bike is that there is going to be some disassembly required. If you are not very confident in removing fairing and the fuel tank then something to consider would be the additional cost of getting someone to for it for you. Budget for around 2-3 hours work. There will also be some electrical connections to make. The kit includes a power loom that comes with connectors to attach directly to the battery and a third wire that will need to be attached to a switched live. Tap into anything that comes on with the ignition.

And the 170-degree wide angle lens view from both cameras ensures that not much is missed, no matter whether the cameras are oriented front and rear or otherwise. G-Sensor – kind of another ‘is it there or not’ feature. The MT1 is identified as having a G-sensor mounted inside the DVR module, and if activated under the VIOFO App, it should sense and measure impact forces. The second option takes a bit more physical effort (kind of) – remove the storage media, put it into a PC-connected reader, like the one supplied, access the main DCIM folder and ‘ cont_rec’ folder. The MT1 can be used as a ‘set-n-forget’ dual channel video system for traffic or travel camera use and user interaction can indeed be minimal. But installing and launching the VIOFO App that is the user interface for the system is recommended, especially for initial configuration and if/when changes to systems settings need to be made. This feature is prevalent in most modern single and dual channel systems including other VIOFO products. But unless it is a ‘hidden’ feature that (yet) needs to be activated, ‘motion detection’, with or without the G-sensor activated, has not been a testable feature.
