About this deal

If the 8qm is supposed to have slower response times than the 9qm, how is it that the rtings motion test seems clearer on the 8qm? I want the cleanest motion clarity and that's supposed to be dictated by response times. Do TN's with slightly slower total response times, but faster rise and fall still offer cleaner motion clarity? This is a confusing result and goes against the "math", unless rise and fall times are more important than total response time for motion clarity. Rise and fall are lower on the TN compared to the IPS's lower total response time. The difference between Dyac and Dyac+ is only the panel used, both the XL2546K and the XL2546S are marketed as Dyac+.

Full HD Resolution: With a 1080P Full HD resolution, games and media look crisp and vibrant on this 27-inch screen, and it's not overly demanding on your graphics card. However, I do not recommend XL2540K whatsoever, it uses a different panel than XL2546K and it had pronounced pixel inversion artifacts. I've also had two units of XL2546K and one had inversion issues, the other one did not (only visible from extreme close-up). Just to add, my friend bought VG258QM and it also has pixel inversion issues. Do yourself a favour and do not buy TN panels in 2021 The only thing that makes XL2546K special (and overpriced as f**k) is DyAc+ basically, otherwise its performance is not so impressive, if you ask me. We spent about 1/2 hour playing around with all the different settings... saturation, blue levels, contrast, etc... trying to achieve the best look we could, then we decided to try the HDR setting in Windows 10 and WOW what a difference, everything looked amazing, so we kept the HDR setting on. My brother did find the monitor very bright, in fact he turned the HDR brightness setting in Windows down to 27 (out of 100) so it wasn't so hard on his eyes. He was coming from a low budget TN panel and he couldn't believe the difference an IPS panel can make, he said he noticed details in his games he never saw before, and the colors where so much more vibrant, a massive improvement. in size offering a 1440p resolution combined with a high 360Hz refresh rate, the first of its kind to market. New ‘Ultra Fast IPS’ panel technology with very good response times and motion clarity. Now includes ULMB 2 blur reduction mode, and also NVIDIA Reflex Latency Analyzer. Updated to Test Bench 1.2, resulting in changes to the results and scores with the Response Time and Input Lag. Added tests for Console Compatibility and macOS compatibility and made minor changes to other tests, which you can see in our Changelog. When I equalized all the values, setting Brightness to 100 for High and Premium, setting Area to 0 and Intensity to 20 (most blur reduction/dimmest picture=25), and verified that the firmware saved all the settings for each DyAc independently, I saw that Premium + 50% brightness was the same brightness as High + 100% brightness. To preserve my own mental sanity, I did *NOT* test this with Intensity=1.

It's clear that Benq designs overdrives to be used specifically with Dyac but I honestly can't really see any overshoot with either AMA High or Premium and Dyac OFF when playing at 240hz unless I use a 240/480fps camera or I look closely at an ufotest. Note that any profile has a different OSD Brightness and Area and Intensity setting for each DyAc setting (which can be saved to the S-switch) The native Freesync range of this monitor is limited to 48-240, you need to manually set it to 48-280 with CRU to make it work above 240hz. The VG258QM fixes this issue for me. There are many ways to use it, and some secret ones that you can only learn about on the blur busters' forums under "the official vg259qm owner's thread", which despite being for a sister monitor, has tweaks that work on this monitor as well. I will now list a few of the ways you can use this board, all of which can be mixed and matched to some degree: My brother needed a new monitor and decided on this one. He wanted a 27" monitor because his old monitors where always small (22 inch or smaller). We debated between the smaller version of this monitor and the 1440p version due to Pixel Per Inch (PPI) concerns. We are aware of the concerns some people have about the low PPI of 1080p resolution on a 27" monitor but I think it boils down to personal preference. I have a 1440p 27" monitor so my brother was able to see the difference between the two resolutions and he says he has no desire to switch to a 1440p monitor after seeing the difference. G-Sync and FreeSync Compatibility: This monitor supports both NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync technologies, reducing screen tearing and ensuring tear-free, stutter-free gaming. The real question is if the VG249QM1A has a good selection of overdrives because for example the 24G2ZU/E is not even close to the XG2431 in terms of response times while still using the same panel.
