About this deal

We use ATC SCM25 monitors, alongside NS10’s and Eastlake JM3T’s which are all fed by a Grace Designs monitor controller, which is incredibly transparent and also has excellent headphone amps. Funky Junk’s Mark [Thompson] already had a great collection of some of the best vintage gear imaginable, and we wanted to give it a home in a space that was accessible and within people’s (rapidly shrinking!) budgets. We will not, without your express consent, supply your personal information to any third party for their or any other third party’s direct marketing.

Even if you have a top-quality microphone and headphones, good gear can only take you so far when recording your voice on the road without proper insulation surrounding you. That’s where a portable recording booth, also called a vocal isolation booth, can make or break your vocal takes. Dealing with early reflections is a good start, and will allow you to hear the anomalies in the room easier. Low frequency issues can be improved with speaker mounting and placement, but also not monitoring too loudly will help. There’s a few additional room-correction solutions out these days such as Sonarworks which I think can be superb. Another benefit we’ve experienced with these is keeping your roommates, family and neighbors from being disturbed by noise. Sometimes you need to get loud for the right feeling to come through on the final mix, and with some of the more encapsulating vocal isolation booths, you’ll be able to sing and scream at top volume, while the people next door will barely be bothered. This goes both ways as well, since the inner layer helps to dampen any sounds coming from other parts of the house, like if someone’s watching TV, running air conditioners or just from the natural hum happening in any room.We have a gorgeous Bosendorfer 225 grand piano, plus Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Hammond C3 and some nice vintage synths. Also a few great drum kits like our 80s Sonorlite and 1971 Ludwig Super Classic. Notwithstanding the other provisions of this Section G, we will retain documents (including electronic documents) containing personal data: Building a high‑end recording studio has always been an ambitious goal. A studio is a complex organism, and substantial resources are needed to conceive a workspace which can keep up with the most critical and diverse of demands. It does not come as a surprise that many of the sound temples we have been showing in our Studio File series so far hail from a different and long‑gone era, when recording studios were either state owned or built by one of the few major record companies. These classic studios still thrive on their legendary names and their established facilities, but it doesn't happen too often that they are joined by new recording venues on the same scale and level of ambition.

That’s how Snap Studio was born. In fact, that same album recording project that inspired the earliest version of Snap Studio took me all the way to the GRAMMY Awards Red Carpet. With the right tools and inspiration, the sky is the limit! Whilst it’s nothing overly elaborate, my setup contains a few choice pieces of gear that I know very well. I have built a comfortable space with a Primacoustic acoustic kit, and bought some decent solid speaker stands. It goes without saying but it’s really important to focus on getting your monitoring right before you even consider anything else. That doesn’t mean it has to be perfect, but making the mixing environment as flat as practically possible within budget and space is essential. Record Crisp Vocals Anywhere — This portable sound booth gives you the luxury of having pristine speech-recording conditions at any time and place. The lightweight frame and diamond-stitched duffel bag makes for easy transportation and heavy-duty protection on the road. There’s certainly been a revival for more traditional recording over the past few years, and we fit in perfectly for that. What are your hopes and plans for the studio in the future?

I think plugins have got so ridiculously good these days and there are some fantastic ones out there. I always used to say that my favourite plugin was Pro Tools 7 band EQ, but that’s now been replaced by the FabFilter Pro-Q3. I think it’s probably my most used plugin. It’s just incredible what you can do with it. I find it so musical and dynamic - it’s essential for me these days. Yeah, the Aurora (n). I love it! I had been using a Prism Orpheus for about 8 years, but upgrading my Mac meant that I needed to upgrade my converters too because the Firewire conversion was too buggy. providing third parties with statistical information about our users (but those third parties will not be able to identify any individual user from that information);

I think a lot of the newer producers in that time came to realise that there are some things which can only be done right with good spaces, and the right equipment/environment/skilled engineers to capture those sounds. if we believe that the documents may be relevant to any ongoing or prospective legal proceedings; and Overall, it’s pretty incredible that such a large booth can fold up and be transported so simply, then be set up again wherever you want. This also works great for small apartments or places where room is limited. Simply store it after your session is done, instead of having a permanent vocal booth taking up valuable floor space.We’ve also got loads of top outboard including Urei 1176s, LA2A, EAR 660, Pultec, Lang and Decca EQs, Decca limiters, Roland Tape Echoes as well as EMT plates and a unique tile room echo chamber. At a time when so many other London studios were closing down, we wanted to build somewhere that offered uncompromising quality and facilities, but with traditional values and a unique, creative vibe, all at an affordable price. Personal information that we process for any purpose or purposes shall not be kept for longer than is necessary for that purpose or those purposes. We reviewed CAD’s A77 mic here, but even with an excellent mic and talented vocalist, capturing the best possible sound quality depends heavily on what’s around you. If you don’t have a designated vocal-booth type setup at home, or want the option of recording wherever inspiration strikes, the Acousti-Shield AS34 is a practical and portable solution at under six pounds. This is constructed from high quality perforated metal, instantly cutting down on echoes and unwanted room reverb thanks to the 35mm high density micro cell acoustic foam. Attach this to just about any mic stand and you’re good to start recording crisp, clear vocals ready to be mixed in your DAW of choice.

Inspiration can strike 24/7. Snap Studio has you covered! With 5.5sqft (0.51m²) of floor space, this portable home recording studio easily fits one person and a mic stand. It breaks down in minutes to fit into the Snap Studio duffel bag (included), making it the perfect travel companion for singers, producers and voice over artists on any budget. Information that we collect may be transferred to the following countries which do not have data protection laws equivalent to those in force in the European Economic Area: the United States of America, Russia, Japan, China, and India.One of the few portable “full-body” booths available out there, this soft setup can accommodate singers up to 6’8″ tall, and still provide enough room inside, 5.5 square feet, to be comfortable. The frame is lightweight and easy to install, yet still sturdy, and you can even detach the acoustic Pro Sound Pad insulation blankets and use them on your studio’s walls (or double up with an extra set to make the booth extra quiet).
