About this deal

Class II - double insulation - no earth required. Fully building code compliant. Fully BEAB approved I would say that a fan rated somewhere around 200m3 per hour is probably sufficient provided it’s installed in a way that means it can get somewhere close to that in use. The easiest way to achieve that is to make the ducts and grills bigger. But don’t go too large as then the air speed will be very low and this could lead to condensation on “dead spots” for example on bends. hope you don't mind me resurrecting an old thread, but I have an MF100T that has just stopped working. MF100S benefits from 3 speed settings which can be set via dip-switch at installation. This allows the fan to operate at an appropriate rate for user requirements. The only negative I can see might be noise, in that the fan will be directly above the shower (Currently it is above the landing cupboard), BUT while the shower is on you won't hear it, and hopefully if it's way more efficient I won't need to have the timer at max for 25 minutes, perhaps 10 would do.

Suitable for mounting in lofts or ceiling voids and for use in applications such as bathrooms, shower rooms, kitchens and moreThe Manrose 4 inch inline fan provides a high extraction rate whilst keeping noise to a minimum. The mixed flow created by the twin blades enables the fan to pull more air than a conventional extractor fan making it ideal for use in bathrooms and other areas of high humidity.

Easy installation and maintenance with the fan assembly easily removed from rigid ducting installations using the specially designed construction. I'm also wondering if I should try and insulate it from the joists somehow, maybe mount a piece of wood on some foam that goes onto the joists, and then mount the fan onto the piece of wood that bridges between them? High air flows are achieved through flexible duct. Compact overall dimensions. 3 speed fan settings, selectable at installation watts power consumption (low / mid / high speeds). 50 / 60 / 68 litres per second / 180 / 216 / 245 cubic metres per hour extraction rate (low / mid / high speeds) Silent operation - Noise is reduced due to the extractor fan being installed in ceiling voids or in the loftThe Manrose 4 inch inline fanprovides a high extraction rate whilst keeping noise to a minimum. The mixed flow created by the twin blades enables the fan to pull more air than a conventional extractor fan making it ideal for use in bathrooms and other areas of high humidity. This particular model; the MF100T, features an over-run timer that keeps the fan running for a period of up to 20 minutes (set upon installation), after power off, to ensure all moisture or stale air is extracted. These powerful in-duct mounted mixed flow fans have been designed to produce higher working pressures for applications that require high air flows, with low relative noise. I haven't investigated at all yet, but one thing he did fit is an isolator switch for the fan, so that will make working on it easier.

Fan performance is generally quoted with the fan mounted in free space, with no ducting. The performance degrades rapidly as restrictions to flow are added, the worst thing being the stretchy 4” duct. Not only does it have not much area, but all those ribs create turbulence that further restricts the effective area. And the grills are often restrictive too, especially after a few years of use when the insect grills in them will be clogged up with fluff. This particular model; the MF100S is the basic On/Off version. It can be paired with Manrose 1361 remote humidistat and Manrose 1350 speed controller. Key FeaturesWe've always been dissapointed with the performance, especially after he told us it was overkill, and we've put it on maximum timer and maximum speed. And re-visiting my mention of the bigger more beefy fans, would it be wise/sensible to go for 150mm ducting and then use a reducer if I can resurrect the current 100T.
