Designed to fit over two burners for maximum cooking space, this 20 x 10.5-inch grill pan has low sides that contain food; meanwhile, a channel on one long side collects juices so food can cook properly without steaming. Handles on the short sides gave us a good hold when we were positioning, cleaning, or storing the grill, but we needed mitts when it was hot. This product is nearly indestructible, so it’s possible you’ll even pass it down to your children. We’ve had a version of this grill in our kitchen for decades, and we expect it to last for decades more. Having qualified from Norwich City College with a BTEC National Diploma in Hotel, Catering and institutional operation in 1992 I moved to West Sussex. We'd be remiss not to consider the cleanup time of each griddle: we simply noted how long it took us to clean them all and averaged those times together. We offer bonus points if the cooktops are removable and dishwasher safe.

Proper use and care will keep your Lodge cookware in top form for a lifetime. Frequently Asked Questions Lodge uses highly refined soybean oil to season their traditional cast iron. The oil contains no animal fat, peanut oil or synthetic chemicals. Soap isn’t always necessary, but if you like, a little mild detergent is fine. However, stay away from dishwashers and metal scouring pads, which can harm the seasoning you are working so hard to build up.
Established in 2007, with a relaunch in 2017 to capture todays more casual and relaxed dining style – a modern eating experience. Our menu features classic English pub dishes alongside some great sharing plates & combos. This is a result of the sand casting process. With use and replenishment of the seasoning, the pan will become smoother and will only get better with use. If you are concerned about roughness, it is alright to use a fine grade of sandpaper to smooth out the rough areas. Just make sure to re-season the item before using it. Next, rub in a very light layer of cooking oil all over both sides of the pan, preferably while the cookware is still warm.
