About this deal

The three storey house was built from 1629 to 1632 by Sir Nicholas Rainton, merchant, Alderman and, at one time, Lord Mayor of London. It was built on the top of a hill that overlooked the former royal palace of Elsyng (also referred to as Elsynge), where Edward VI had spent his childhood prior to ascending the throne. Sir Nicholas died at Forty Hall in 1646 and the house passed to his great-nephew, also called Nicholas Rainton, who extended the park and demolished Elsyng Palace. In the final few days of the game, any Fugitives still on the run are given instructions for their 'extraction point' and a finite amount of time to get there. The Hunters are told of the last-known locations of the Fugitives and extend their efforts to figure out where the extraction is taking place. When a Fugitive successfully reaches the extraction point within the time-frame, they can no longer be caught by the Hunters and are deemed a Winner. Due to the nature of the show, there are two possible outcomes to the hunt: one or more Fugitives can reach the extraction point and win, or every Fugitive can be caught and the hunt prematurely ends (known as a "clean sweep"). All the people we met that helped us on this show were either suffering from cancer or had somebody in their family who had passed away from the disease. We met an eight-year-old girl who had cancer; kids can be so cruel and she was obviously ‘different’ at school for very heartbreaking reasons. People in my own family have passed away from cancer. It’s 2017 but cancer is something that can haunt everyone’s life whether you live on a council estate or you’re royalty. There’s nothing you can do really, there’s steps you can take to stay healthy but there’s no guarantee you’ll never get cancer. It would be nice if we had one.” Garmadon can be compared to Hela in which they both take over the main characters' home world and results in the main characters being transported to another location.

Lastly, and this is probably the worst offender, Jay doesn't realize he's being sacrificed in The Island. I can excuse him thinking he's being appointed king during the first scene with the two headed guy, but you'd think that he would probably realize that the Keepers probably don't have his best intentions in mind when he's literally tied to a raft and pushed out to sea in the middle of the night. Eight celebrities were chosen and began at the Tower of London. Fawley Power Station served as the extraction point. Also in 2022, Jay took part in and won Richard Osman's House of Games on BBC television, following a tense daily battle with fellow contestant Bobby Seagull It is said that the ghost of Sir Geoffrey de Mandeville, a Norman knight killed in 1144, haunts this area.

I’m not convinced by any of the claims but there are far more credible encounters with the supernatural here that were recorded by Jennie Lee Cobban (see Monken Hadley, above). The most prominent, and somewhat controversial part of the restoration was the installation of a brand new staircase, a Jacobean reproduction made of English oak which replaced a long staircase that had been installed in 1897. The first floor landing that served the former staircase gained a reputation for being haunted during the years it was open to the public. Visitors would occasionally make a point of asking if the house was haunted and when asked why they would invariably say that they had had an uncanny feeling of being watched on the first floor landing. O'Donovan, Gerard (10 September 2015). "Hunted, episode one, Channel 4, review: 'intense' ". The Telegraph . Retrieved 19 October 2016.But I shouldn’t be writing this in the past tense for it’s all still there, except for the witch’s house. That fell into disrepair and was replaced some years ago by an ugly, utilitarian boxlike structure. It does the job required of it but I can’t imagine any witches, real or imagined, would want to live in it.
