About this deal

Once removed, the battery can be slid into the included fast charging stand (making sure the “G” faces upwards). The charge time on the mower is only an hour which is far less than any other electric mower we know of. Storing the Cordless Lawnmower 2.0 What I really like about the Gtech Cordless Lawnmower 2.0 is the addition of a removable safety key that disables the lawnmower to help prevent accidental starting. This is a nice feature not found on similar cordless mowers that gives peace of mind around children.

Overall, the Gtech SLM50 is a well-designed product and an innovative solution for those with smaller yards. If you already own a Gtech trimmer, but not a lawn mower, getting this one is a no-brainer. Below I’ll detail all the features and functions of the Gtech Cordless Lawnmower, both good and not so good and then compare to the Gtech Falcon so you understand exactly what you’re getting for your money. The convenience and safety of not being tethered by the cable and the excellent charge and run-times that are now available, and yes, powerful enough to cut the lawn as good as a corded mower are seeing sales of cordless mowers increase substantially year on year. A lot of thought has been put into being able to store the Cordless Lawnmower 2.0. We’ve already mentioned the folding grass bag but aside from this there is also folding handles, carrying handles and the sheer lightness of the machine.

Safety first.

With regard to the mono blade, I initially thought the same regarding the balance and vibrations, however I didn’t notice anything to worry about. When I was cutting the extremely long grass and the blade was somewhat covered with damp grass, you do notice a slight wobble as the mower starts up. As soon as it is up to speed there is no vibration.

The grass box on the Gtech Cordless Lawnmower is very easy to remove by simply lifting the flap and unhooking. The grass clippings empty from the box with no obstructions. This is a hard topped collection box with a carry handle at the top. The grass box can be folded flat to help reduce storage space required. Next you fit the grass bin, by pushing the base down and clipping it onto the metal rod. You then lift up the protective flap on the mower and hook the grass box into place. This is the only step I found a bit fiddly, as I had to find the exact angle to push the grass box into place, at the same time as placing it on the hooks. Set up took just over a minute and a half. GTech Cordless Lawn Mower Review - How Good Is The Vacuum Manufacturer With Cutting Grass? Gtech Cordless Lawnmower 2.0 ReviewWe’ve already given you a roundup of some of the best cordless lawn mowers but now there’s a new player in the market. Gtech is a relatively new British company more known for their innovative and smartly designed vacuum cleaners. I have a small front lawn which this is absolutely made for. Just what was needed, I invented this 20 years ago in my mind as it was needed by people that keep a small lawn. It’s so easy to use I look forward to the next time I can get it out. – Jean C. What’s the Downside…? This mower is not the lightest mower for its size but is by no means the heaviest. It is easy to manoeuvre around the garden, this may be to do with the large wheels, solid build quality, the comfortable padded bars and starter lever that runs the length of the bars.

So, if you have a small to medium-sized lawn and will keep a regular cutting schedule, it’s really hard to see past the SLM50. It’s extremely lightweight, easy to use, and doesn’t require power cords. Despite using a brushed motor instead of a more expensive brushless one, this titchy mower really impressed us with its cutting efficiency, even in relatively long damp grass. We estimate about 30 minutes of use on a single one-hour charge of its Samsung battery – enough power to cover up to three separate sessions on a small 10m x 8m lawn. For added convenience, it has a battery power indicator just below the start button on the handlebar. Take the Stihl RMA 443 VC coverage as an example. In the picture above, Deputy Editor of T3 (and budding gardener) Robert Jones is shown in videos and pictures actually using the mower. He also provides his personal, hands-on experience with the mower, talking through his findings in terms of design and build quality as well as performance and features. Speaking of the price, the Gtech Cordless Lawnmower 2.0 is priced to be on the higher end of the market. The listed price is more than many competitors and is about as much as you would pay for corded or petrol models that have additional features like rear rollers or mulching. The CLM50 lawnmower is designed for small to medium-sized gardens, so if that sounds like you, then the GTech CLM50 is a fantastic option to buy! It lets you choose to cut from anywhere between 30 mm to 80 mm with 6 separate cutting lengths. Just make sure you don’t set it at the shortest setting right from the start when the lawn has significant growth, instead start at a higher setting and gradually work your way down. This allows the areas of small grass to catch up with the long, resulting in a more even garden. Whether you think these additional features are needed is a personal choice, but we still believe that the Gtech Cordless Lawnmower 2.0 is priced well given that it tends to do the basics better (and more conveniently) than its competitors. The Greenworks’ seven cutting heights (from 25mm to 80mm) are effortless to adjust using the large lever on its right and its two-way folding handlebar system is very well designed and capable of being used at three different height positions. Despite its size and weight (30.5kgs), the Greenworks Pro GD60LM46SPK4 is easy to store without taking up too much space – simply collapse the handlebar assembly and store it in an upright position. You should get up to about 26 minutes of mowing from the supplied 4Ah battery. If you want to see the charge state outside of the mower then there is also a button on the battery that lights up the LEDs. This is a feature that is weirdly absent in a lot of cordless gardening products so we’re glad that Gtech have seen fit to implement it here.
