While colorimeters are good for transmissive media – emitted light (such as displays), spectrophotometers are also good for reflective media (such as paper). So if you want to make sure that what you see on the display is also what you will see when it’s printed out, than opting for a spectrophotometer might be a better idea. However, these come at a considerably higher price point than monitor-only colorimeters. Moving on, the AOC G2490VX input lag amounts to ~5ms, so you won’t be able to notice any delays between your actions and the result on the screen. Colour accuracy, gamma, luminance and colour temperaturemay be improved when using these settings and/or ICC profiles. Do not be alarmed if they do not work on your screen and system. If they do not work, just remove the ICC profile and restore your settings. It is totally reversible! In fact, this is a common issue for most VA panel monitors, but it’s even worse on this 23.8″ flat-screen model. Bear in mind all these settings are related to the individual’s screen, software, operating system and PC hardware. Their relevance and effectiveness on your system may vary

The percentage of the approximate area, taken by the active part of the screen, to the total front area. If you don’t want any prominent smearing in fast-paced games, you should get a 144Hz gaming monitor with an IPS panel, such as the AOC 24G2 or the BenQ EX2510. After calibration, you’ll be surprised about how AOC’s display expertise and high-quality panels ensure that most AOC monitors require only small amounts of calibration or no significant changes at all.Approximate diagonal size of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the diagonal is calculated from the width and height of the screen. To achieve truly accurate results, you would need to use a calibration device on your own screen and system and profile the screen with it yourself.

Adaptive-Sync is supported as well, providing you with a variable refresh rate (VRR) for tear-free gameplay as long as you have a compatible graphics card by AMD (FreeSync) or NVIDIA (G-SYNC Compatible). The AOC G2790VX is mostly built out of plastic, so it doesn’t feel as durable as other options in its category. It can feel cheap and fragile for some, but it is actually quite durable for a budget monitor. The stand has a slight wobble but it won’t be an issue if your desk is stable and you don’t pound on your keyboard while gaming. While the AOC G2490VX offers an excellent image quality and plenty of useful features, its pixel response time speed is simply too slow for an enjoyable gaming experience. Specifications Screen Size Some retailers have taken to calling everything 'G-Sync Compatible', though, so make sure you consult our list of Nvidia G-Sync Compatible monitors below to make sure it's been properly certified by Nvidia and isn't just a small 'c' compatible monitor. That's not to say that you should steer clear of all uncertified Freesync monitors, though, as below I've also put together an extra list of Freesync monitors I've tested myself that have also worked perfectly fine with Nvidia graphics cards. Nvidia's list of official G-Sync Compatible monitors is growing all the time, too, so it's possible that some of these screens may eventually get incorporated into the full list in the future. Each has its own specific features - viewing angles, color reproduction, response time, brightness/contrast, production cost, etc. The image quality depends directly on the type of the display panel used.

Thoughts on the AOC G2790VX

Now, the difference in contrast ratio and brightness is not particularly noticeable, especially since 250-nits is more than bright enough for most users under normal lighting conditions. Klarna Bank AB (publ) is Authorised by the Swedish Financial Services Authority (Finansinspektionen) and is subject to limited regulation by the Financial Conduct Authority. The pixel pitch shows the distance from the centers of two neighboring pixels. In displays, which have a native resolution (the TFT ones, for example), the pixel pitch depends on the resolution and the size of the screen. You can also visit our blog for great articles on tech. Here are some links to our blogs on monitors. And that's it! Don't worry too much about the little message that says 'Selected Display is not validated as G-Sync Compatible'. That's just alerting you that the monitor isn't one of Nvidia's official G-Sync Compatible monitors, so your G-Sync experience may not be the absolute bestest best available.

The VA technology also boasts 178° wide viewing angles, so you won’t get big shifts in brightness, contrast and color when looking at the screen at skewed angles like you would with a TN panel display.Basically, don’t rely on these settings and profiles working magic on your screen! They should hopefully help improve things for many users, but performance will vary as explained above. Send Us Your Settings and Profiles! If you own a FreeSync monitor and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 10-series graphics card upwards (yer GTX 1050s and above etc) and would like to try out G-Sync for yourself, then it's surprisingly easy to enable G-Sync on your FreeSync monitor. A 27 inch monitor builds on all the fantastic elements of a 24 inch screen by making them bigger, better, and faster. They provide a brilliant balance between screen and desk space, a wider FOV (field of view) that lets you see more on screen, and increased pixel density to really bring visuals to life. This makes 27 inch monitors ideal for a variety of different work, but spreadsheets don't have the same visual impact as a blisteringly fast-paced video game. If you are someone who loves gaming and wants the best experience, or a designer who needs as much space as possible for multiple windows and apps, a 27 inch monitor is going to be your new best friend.
