Contained within this multi-part plastic kit lies everything you need to assemble a formidable Biologus Putrifier. Clad in the customary rusted armor of the Death Guard, the miniature boasts the unmistakable marks of Nurgle’s corruption—burns, melting panels, and the eerie emergence of tentacles, hinting at the eldritch experiments the Putrifier conducts.Wings: I agree those two stand out as the best, but I do think the Poxmongers will see use still, as a full Blight Hauler unit with the Ironclot buff up is great. With Mortarion’s Anvil , I do also want to call out that the relic is an absurdly strong character buff – it just gives the bearer full hit and wound re-rolls in melee with no questions asked, which is quite the thing on a Daemon Prince with a hellforged sword. The Wretched haven’t retained their ability to summon on the move – sadly all mentions of summoning Daemons seem to have been removed from this book – but can use the Sevenfold Blessings Stratagem during army construction to give a Pysker an extra power and the ability to re-roll a Psychic test once per turn for free. Start layering the colors on the model to create highlights and shadows. Layering adds depth and dimension to the model. Use a lighter color than the base coat and apply it selectively to raised areas or edges. For example, use a lighter green like Warpstone Glow to highlight the edges of the armor.

Terminators. Terminators in the Death Guard are now 5” Movement, but haven’t given up their 4+ invulnerable save – they get to keep it, which is just great. Wings: Except Terminator Sorcerers, who wear cowardly clean Terminator armour. Toxic presence’ increases by 3″ the contagion range of Death Guard within 12″; we’ll explain contagion range later. HQ: Sorcerer [6 PL, 90pts, -1CP]: 4. Blades of Putrefaction, 5. Putrescent Vitality, Relic: Ironclot Furnace (-1 CP)Units that disembark from a TRANSPORT model that made a Normal move this phase count as having made a Normal move themselves; they cannot move further during this phase. Such a unit also cannot declare a charge in the same turn, but can otherwise act normally in the remainder of the turn. Don: Possessed, unfortunately their transport options have been limited. They basically count as terminators for the purposes of what they are allowed to embark upon and how much space they take up in those transports. HQ: Lord of Change w/Baleful Sword Exalted (-1 CP), Powers: Infernal Gateway, Bolt of Change, Gaze of Fate The usual suspects are all here and the Plagueburst Crawler is the star of the show again. Now sporting BS 3+ and a Plagueburst Mortar with a flat 2 damage statline, it’s priced to move at 165 points. The Entropy Cannons are only +5 points now and also strongly worth consideration, since they now do a staggering D3+3 damage. Also the Rothail Volley Gun is Rapid Fire 3. It’s a hell of a tank. Similarly, the Defiler is also very good here. While it doesn’t have Disgustingly Resilient (and has no way to get it), it does get Contagions and it benefits from the upgrade to WS/BS 3+. You pay 30 points more for it than Chaos Space Marines do theirs, but the other upside is that the Defiler Cannon is now a flat 3 damage gun. Dedicated Transport The Chaos Daemons faction hasn’t changed all that much from our review of Engine War, which significantly improved Greater Daemons and a number of units. The most notable changes however are the changes to the army construction and the changes to missions that have shifted a number of priorities, making the game even at a casual level about accomplishing Primary and Secondary Objectives. So let’s dig into each of those individually and see what we can divine about the army. Army Construction The Plague Surgeon, though in the narrative more concerned with curating new strains of disease than healing anyone, can return a destroyed bodyguard model to the unit he’s joined during the Command Phase with his Tainted Narthecium. He’s also able to join a unit with another character, and his ‘Diseased Healing’ allows him to return up to three lost wounds to a wounded character within 3″.

What is the Biologus Putrifier

Fugaris Helm: This relic is identical to its 8th edition version, but is even more useful now. It extends the range of the bearer’s Aura abilities by 3”, to a maximum of 12″. It is not the most flashy relic, but increasing the range on the Noxious Blightbringer’s or Plague Surgeon’s aura effects are extremely good and allow for greater coverage. This one was very good already and is now going to be a must-take. Here are a few that are worth noting: Recruiting from the toxic world Barbarus, the Death Guard prided themselves on their hardiness, their indomitability, and their resistance to pain. They fought in the foulest of warzones, prosecuting the most uncompromising and gruelling sieges through swamps poisoned by industrial waste, trenches filled with radioactive contaminants, or jungles alive with alien plagues. These are the light and dark color pairs used for the ampoules, plus gray and white for reflections. I chose all cold shades, which seemed to me more suited to the character, but there are also those who color the ampoules all as if they contained the classic green slime of Nurgle.
