Honeydukes owners Mr. Flume and Mrs. Flume are the kind of obscurities you’d never expect to see in minifigure form, but they’re totally in-keeping with the video game vibe this set gives off (having both appeared as playable characters in LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4). They’re not the most exciting characters, but for veteran collectors they’re more welcome than, say, another Ron and Hermione. (Although Ron does appear anyway, just cast in gold.) Build the ultimate LEGO Harry Potter set with the Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets model! This buildable modular castle includes familiar characters and scenes. Harry Potter fans can build their very own Harry Potter LEGO Hogwarts, and experience the magical school for themselves. The LEGO® Harry Potter™ Hogwarts™ Chamber of Secrets (76389) playset is an impressive, collectible toy that is ideal for explorative play and display. This little inn is completely build out of the parts of set 76388 Hogsmeade Villige Visit (additionally some of the spare parts of the set).
Madam Rosmerta and yet another brand new Professor McGonagall are the real highlights in terms of minifigure design, but there’s not really a duff character among the lot – especially if you’re still building your own army of Harrys, and especially if you’re collecting the golden 20th anniversary minifigures. — Price — The upper floor remains unexplored during the movies, unlike the basement which is linked to Hogwarts through a hidden passageway. I believe the designer has therefore taken inspiration from the basement when filling the chamber, which houses several accessories. These include a yellow Honeydukes box, resembling those shown during The Prisoner of Azkaban.Ambrosius' wife, known only as Mrs Flume, features brighter clothing. The lavender and pink colours are appealing, complemented by Mr Flume's hat. Additionally, I love the sweet pattern across her shawl. However, another head would have been appreciated because the example here is shared with Helga Hufflepuff and Molly Weasley, from past Harry Potter sets. This dark orange hair piece looks excellent though. For an initial outing into LEGO Hogsmeade, you could do much worse than 76388 Hogsmeade Village Visit. Across 851 pieces, this 20th anniversary set (if only by association) boils down the approach of 75978 Diagon Alley into a model that’s more appropriately targeted for the wizarding world’s less iconic shopping destination. That’s particularly true in Honeydukes, the ground floor of which offers a veritable cornucopia of colourful printed pieces to play with. It’s reminiscent of 75978 Diagon Alley’s interiors in all the best ways, right down to its tiled floor, and really does feel like a stepping stone to that larger 18+ build. Enter the Great Hall, decorated with with two long tables, Dumbledore’s golden-owl lectern and authentic accessories, such as the sorting hat. The LEGO Chamber of Secrets has an iconic circular entrance and a large statue with an opening mouth, revealing a corridor from where the Basilisk snake enters the room. This LEGO Harry Potter set also comes with a posable Basilisk, featuring opening jaws, a head section with 2 rotatable joints, and a tail comprising 3 reconfigurable parts to strike cool poses.
LEGO® building kits satisfy rigorous industry quality standards to ensure they are consistent, compatible and connect and pull apart perfectly every time – it’s been that way since 1958.Contrasting with The Prisoner of Azkaban, where every roof is completely covered with snow, this model features comparatively few white accents. I think this arrangement looks appealing though, permitting easy removal of snow for different seasons. Additionally, these mismatched windows throughout the upper levels recreate an important feature from the original building. Dean Thomas does incorporate an exclusive double-sided head, including two different smiles. The torso is also unique which is superb, albeit surprising because this design does not appear onscreen. I presume the element has been produced for another character, which has yet to be revealed. Nevertheless, it works nicely here and the medium legs are perfect. The thistle on the reverse seems particularly appropriate, given its association with Scotland. Madam Rosmerta also features a unique torso and her medium nougat hair looks wonderful, accurately reflecting the original character. However, this head appears quite regularly and an alternative design would have been preferable, avoiding this unnecessary angry expression.
Various white wedge plates and tiles adorn the roof, representing gathered snow. The design works nicely, surrounding a dormer window. The consistent angles between roof slopes seem authentic, while the narrow chimneys appear perfect for Hogsmeade. Textured roof tiles would have enhanced the building further, although these exposed studs are fairly successful. The set measures over 15.5 in. (40 cm) high, 15.5 in. (40 cm) wide and 4 in. (11 cm) deep and combines easily with other LEGO® Harry Potter™ sets for extra fun. Includes an exclusive, golden Voldemort™ minifigure to celebrate 20 years of magic with LEGO® Harry Potter™. Honeydukes is among the most famous locations in Hogsmeade, serving various fascinating confections to Hogwarts students. This business is owned by Ambrosius Flume, whose new head looks absolutely superb. His friendly and weary expressions capture fantastic personality and I like the understated attire too, including an accurate striped scarf.
We’re talking specifically about the LEGO Harry Potter video games, both of which feature Hogsmeade in levels and as a free play area, and both while covered in snowfall. In that sense, the deliberate design choice to plant 76388 Hogsmeade Village Visit firmly in winter is both accurate to how we see the location portrayed on screen, and plays into the anniversary celebrations in an alternative – but no less welcome – way. — Characters — After a long day at the local christmas market, travelers as well as villagers can now indulge themselves with the best food and drink in town! Subsequently they can enjoy a well-deserved night's rest in comfortable rooms upstairs. The large, modular LEGO® Harry Potter™ Hogwarts™ Chamber of Secrets (76389) playset is a versatile, stand-out toy that’ll enchant any fan of the Harry Potter movies.

And that is something that has to be said and can't be said often enough. TLG might have the moral high ground, but for the top dollar they ask for their sets nowadays they should offer the best quality too (which is even their edict - that they don't follow anymore unfortunately).
