About this deal

You’ll be getting HDR10, Dolby Vision and HLG alongside HDMI eARC instead of just ARC; plus, you’ll get the Google TV platform and virtual assistant support, too. All told, this is about what you’d expect from a relatively basic, modern 4K TV in 2023, but you might not expect the 4-Series’ pricing. As you make your way up TCL’s lines, TCL TVs will offer HDR10+, HLG, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, gaming-focused features like ALLM and VRR, and even QLED panels. The 6-Series will even offer up Mini-LED support and 8K support, too. Unsurprisingly, the more features you want, the more money you’ll be spending. On fast-moving actions, you don't want to miss a detail. MEMC TCL's proprietary software algorithm steps up to the plate while you're watching sports or fast-paced shows or movies. Helping reduce motion display blur and keeping motion trails to a minimum. This is not an especially bright TV, though - its claimed peak brightness of 450 nits is nothing special, and in practice the TCL seems to struggle to hit even that modest figure. The white tones it creates are clean and varied, certainly, but they’re far from dynamic - and it follows that contrasts are not all that striking. On C64K Series, 120Hz refresh rate is achieved via unique algorithms and TCL technology. Game resolution is automatically set to Full HD to allow 120 images per second. A smooth image for latest 120Hz game console generations.

Accordingly, if you’re looking for a Roku TV or 144Hz support or anything else, you can find it within TCL’s many different UK TVs on offer; however, for the purposes of this guide, we’ll be focusing on TCL’s flagship, lower-cost TVs with the most mainstream appeal. There are of course a few key differences between the 2022 and 2023 models. The C835K can’t hit the same levels of brightness as its successor, with peak brightness of 1,500 nits compared to 2,000 nits. It also uses an older processor – AiPQ 2.0 – meaning HDR tone-mapping and general processing aren’t quite as impressive. There’s no 98in option either, and the speaker system is powered differently, with two 15W drivers and a single 30W driver in place of the pair of 25W drivers and single 20W driver on the C835K. The C845 also utilises quantum dot technology to enhance colour richness, contrast and realism, while there is also support for various HDR formats – including Dolby Vision IQ – to make sure that picture is as crisp as possible no matter what you’re watching. This chip helps improve contrast, clarity, colour and motion and also looks after the upscaling of lower-resolution content. HDR format support covers every base, with HDR10, HDR10+, HLG and Dolby Vision IQ as well as IMAX Enhanced all present and correct. TCL’s flagship Roku TVs have a lot of commonalities between them, each coming with a 60Hz refresh rate, Dolby Digital Plus audio, HDMI ARC (or eARC) connections, and typical features like VESA mounts and an included remote. At their core is the Roku OS – a portal to streaming apps – though you can opt for Android/Google versions of these TVs over Roku if you prefer.

AI-MOTION

On top of QLED panels, the 5-Series also gets HDR10+ and Dolby Vision as well as Dolby Atmos support for all the spatial audio fans. For gamers, the 5-Series adds in VRR and ALLM support, too, though it’ll only do 4K/60Hz. All told, the 5-Series upgrades image quality, audio, and gaming performance in key areas over the 4-Series. TCL UK’s C745K Series is one of the budget brand’s more premium TV offerings, and it's built with gamers in mind. As well as a refresh rate of 120Hz (or 144Hz for PC gamers), it has a wealth of gaming features built-in, like Gaming Master 2 aiming aid, shadow enhancement, gaming picture mode, VRR and ALLM. Driven by our Inspire Greatness vision, we are excited to introduce our first 2023 QLED TVs in Europe," said Frédéric Langin, Chief Commercial Officer, TCL Europe, "We are confident that our 2023 TV additions will meet our consumers’ expectations, offering then premium affordable technology and connected entertainment." Navigating through the TV's features is a breeze, thanks to the user-friendly interface and the included remote control. The TCL 43C645K also supports voice control, allowing you to control the TV and search for content using simple voice commands. As far as usability is concerned, things take a turn for the slightly odd. The TCL is supplied with a fairly standard remote control - it’s slightly eccentric in its layout but useful enough. It puts you in charge of some set-up menus that allow a degree of control over the picture quality, but nothing like as much as the likes of, say, Panasonic or Philips grant you - as many customers will find that a blessing as find it a disappointment, though, I’m quite sure.

When it comes to operating systems, TCL hedges its bets. One each of these three TVs runs Android TV, Google TV and Roku OS. Across all of them, you’ll get familiar features like VESA mounting, HDR, Dolby Audio, virtual assistant support, and more.

Sonic Megastores Ltd acts as a credit broker and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. The TCL 43C645K is not only a feast for the eyes but also an audio powerhouse. It features built-in dual speakers that deliver immersive sound quality. With Dolby Atmos support, the TV creates a three-dimensional audio experience, filling the room with rich and detailed sound.

Switching to 4K content from a streaming service can see a little edginess and noise creep into images, but not fatally. It’s when you step down below 1080p content that the TCL really throws the towel in: detail levels dip, edge-definition loses positivity, and on-screen motion can become problematic. Keep your viewing up at Full HD standard as a minimum, though, and the C645 remains a very watchable screen.Explore Comet and discover a constellation of products from washing machines and fridge freezers to air fryers, 4K TVs, laptops, consoles and more - it’s easy to find everything you need for your home in the Comet universe. It’s important to note that when shopping for gadgets and technology products, it can be tempting to go for the lowest price possible. However, be wary of retailers that offer prices that seem too good to be true. Some less reputable retailers may sell counterfeit or low-quality products, which can be dangerous and not perform as well as the genuine product. All of the colours that cinema cameras can capture. They make it possible to deliver a level of colour reproduction, detail and depth which are unrivalled by any other LED or OLED TV. With TVs to suit a wide range of budgets, TCL is taking the UK market very seriously, rattling its sabre at well-established elites of the industry such as Samsung and LG.

The TCL C645K sports a sound system based around a pair of downward-firing full-range speakers, each of which has 15W of built-in amplification. The sound quality is surprisingly good, with a clean delivery and well-defined mid-range. Dialogue is clear, but there’s little in the way of bass extension, and the TCL can sound strained at higher volumes. However, the larger screen size adds some much-needed width, and there’s excellent stereo separation with music. Much like TCL’s US side, TCL UK offers up a slew of budget TVs with different features at different price points. From 720p TVs to 4K Mini-LED sets that cost thousands, UK TCL TVs run the gamut as well. One of the biggest differences is that it runs the Roku OS operating system, which has a different layout to Android TV, but many of the same apps. It's another QLED TV – hardly surprising, given TCL's enthusiasm for the technology – but has more basic audio-visual technologies. Secure Trust Bank PLC (register number 204550) is authorised by the PRA and regulated by the FCA and the PRA. Featuring state-of-the-art Quantum Dot technology, this TCL TV delivers genuine cinematic colours that optimise colour reproduction, detail and depth, allowing you to enjoy vivid accurate colours and finest details when watching your favourite movies and TV. For GamersThe RS530K is available in either 32in or 40in and looks relatively similar in terms of specifications. It also has a 60Hz panel but the resolution is FHD (1,920 x 1,080) rather than UHD (3,840 x 2,160). Similarly, while there is support for the HDR10 and HLG formats, you don’t get the more advanced HDR10+ and Dolby Vision format support found with the RC630K. While TCL US is a budget brand, first and foremost, the company does offer quite a range of sets – from tiny, cheap 720p TVs with barebones features to big-screen Mini-LED sets that can cost thousands of dollars. Whether you want a Google TV over a Roku TV or you want 8K over 4K, TCL has you covered. In addition, high-quality gadgets and technology products tend to have better performance. This is particularly important for products that are used for tasks such as gaming, video editing, or graphic design. A high-quality TCL 43C645K Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR QLED TV with Google Assistant is likely to have better specs and features, which will translate into better performance and a better user experience.
