Darren Korb Zagreus, Prince of the Underworld, is the son of Hades and is the protagonist of the game Hades. Dialogue with many Olympians, including Hermes, Athena, and Poseidon imply or outright state that Zagreus' presence and existence has eased tensions on Olympus in a way none of them had seen. At some point, Hades, worrying that Zagreus had no firm direction in life, had the hero Achilles take him as a student and teach him how to fight. Here, he became skilled in combat. Hades and Persephone attempted to have a child, but with the Fates' prophecy declaring that Hades could not have an heir, Zagreus died during birth. Persephone, distraught, left the Underworld. Without her knowing, Nyx was able to revive him and convinced the Fates to let him live. From here, Nyx had Zagreus believe that she was his mother.The first section goes over the shoulder and the two o-rings join at the hip where the sword frog is. I however only made a strip of brown leather as a spacer as my sword would have been way to heavy to fit on the straps, and I was running short on time. This is also the strap that should hold the quiver, which is to say if you want it to be functional I would recommend making it out of actual leather! Zagreus has always had a sense that he doesn't belong in the House of Hades. Sometime before the start of the game he decides, against his father's will, to escape from the Underworld—no matter how many tries it might take him. He is aided and encouraged in his journey, primarily by his caretaker Nyx and his mentor Achilles. Others outside the House of Hades, such as Sisyphus, Charon, and the Olympians sometimes offer their aid as well. Hades is a stunning adventure. I'm not the biggest roguelike fan (I'll play and enjoy them, but it's not something I actively seek out), but I couldn't get enough of this adventure from Supergiant Games, which is a good thing, because as a roguelike there is a lot of repetition that is involved.

Hades is the roguelike for even those that don't necessarily like roguelikes. The art style, the characters, the satisfying weapons upgrade system? It all comes together to offer a stellar gaming experience. What's also stellar? This Hades cosplayer bringing his A-game when it comes to bringing this impressive Zagreus cosplay to life. Zagreus is a loving hero, a social magnet, a charismatic, captivating, and sociable young man, who easily befriends many he encounters, treating those of lower status as equals and often using his own influence to improve their lives, respecting the elders (except his father) and other gods. He is subtle, but his gregarious attitude and desire to please everyone suggest a strong paternal void in Zagreus, a result of his emotionally distant relationship with his father. His desire to form a good relationship with everyone he meets becomes a point of the plot. Zagreus is magnetic and will make friends and allies wherever he goes, leaving a trail of tumult in the Underworld. Painting the greave was the same as all the others, primer, gold spray paint, run n buff and acrylic. Size chart for reference only. This is likely because unlike the other enemies in the game that can be fought who are already dead and will eventually regenerate after being destroyed, the Satyr Cultists and the Gigantic Vermin are still alive, and by killing them he feels that he's robbing them of their lives even though they'll all eventually end up in the Underworld anyway regardless of whether he fights them or not. This shows that while Zagreus enjoys a good fight, he takes no pleasure in the more violent aspects of combat. Zagreus is the protagonist of Hades and is the Prince of the Underworld. As Hades' son, his relationship to the underworld is anything but easy. The game itself sees players take on the role of Zagreus as he makes numerous attempts to escape the underworld. In an existential crisis, Zagreus discovers that his entire life had no purpose, struggling to meet his father's expectations and feeling useless to the House for not being able to contribute to the functioning of the Underworld, feeling distant and alienated among the other inhabitants of Hades and having "nothing to call his own." Despite this, he finds purpose when he discovers the existence of his true mother, long lost, Persephone, and decides to escape the realm of the dead to find answers about her and himself.

The curved end of the spear handle was made from two layers of 1/2 in EVA foam sandwiched together and shaped with the dremel. The whole handle was then wrapped in 2mm EVA foam to add bulk and blend the sections. I used a gold trim from Jo Ann for the edging and then added the lines using gold 3D paint. The brooch was made of a base layer of EVA foam, with the raised detailing being another layer of foam, and then worbla added over the top and pressed into the design. This was painted gold and the stitched directly to the front of the cape to hide the seam. Zagreus feels conflicted about fighting the living things in the Temple of Styx, confiding in Achilles that killing the Satyrs and Vermin on the surface feels different than fighting the wretches which already reside in the Underworld.

Upon giving Ambrosia to Demeter following the feast, Zagreus will say that he believes some of his grandmother's powers over life were passed onto him. I started first by making the boob cups, these were made out of a double layer of worbla formed over in my case two cake tin spheres (you can use what ever will give you the right shape for your boobs). Kamui Cosplay has a great tutorial introduction on shaping boob cups out of worbla. Once I had the right amount of curve I trimmed the cups into shape at the top so they would slope smoothly towards the collarbone, Kassandra’s breastplate only has under boob definition, not a cleavage shelf. The last portion of the breastplate is the shoulder straps. These were made using the same veg-tan leather, in two layers and wet formed to hold the shoulder curve. I dremled in the grooves on the edges and then dyed the under layer with Red EcoFlo and the top layer with Dark Brown EcoFlo. The medusa faces were made by molding sculpey around the o-rings and then painting them gold and gluing the directly to the surface with E6000. I also added magnets in the straps the correspond to magnets in the breast-plate to help keep the shoulder straps in the right position. The greave was then painted with a spray primer, gold spray paint, run n buff and acrylic to weather (like all the other painting, my Patreon has more details). The left bracer is made out of worbla and EVA foam. I pattered the pieces using tracing paper and then cut those pieces out of 2mm EVA foam which I then wrapped in worbla. The very top section had detailing added using EVA foam hot glued to the base EVA, and then the worbla applied over the top and pressed into the grooves. Each piece also had a raised edge of worbla, made from a double layered strip, wrapped around it. I then added rivets to the sections at the corners based on the reference images.
