About this deal

How he did not die at 21, with an enlarged heart, two types of hepatitis, malnourshment and God knows what else, is a miracle in and of itself. Sadly he did die at 50 of heart failure, a fairly young age to die, but just amazed he even made it that far even if he had stayed sober since, considering all the damage that had already been done to his body. Launius and DeVerell, disguised as police officers, led fellow gang members David Lind and Tracy McCourt into the rival leader’s home, where they handcuffed Nash and his bodyguard, Gregory Diles. In 1990, Diles and Nash were both charged with participating in the killings in a California state court. Thorson testified against the defendants, but the jury returned an 11-1 verdict of not guilty. Nash and Diles were found not guilty in a second trial that took place in 1991. In 1997, Diles passed away from liver failure. Ron Launius’s wife, Susan, also lived in the Wonderland house. A drug user like her husband, she largely absented herself from gang activities. Los Angeles Police Department (February 13, 2002). "News about Nash's federal conviction". LAPDonline.org.

Cool video as Scott Michaels of findadeath.com gives a current tour of the Wonderland murder house. He later married Fawn Hall of the Iran–Contra affair fame in 1993 and they remained married until his death. [4] [5] They briefly met MP3.com co-founder Rod Underhill while Hall was employed there. Underhill later stated that "Sugerman was very interesting. He had appeared to go out of his way to appear visually like Jim Morrison. Same type of haircut, similar clothing. The similarity was uncanny." [ citation needed] Sugerman discussed his idolization of Morrison in detail, in part of his book Wonderland Avenue: Tales of Glamour and Excess. He began working with the Doors when he was 12 years old, answering their fan mail. At age 17 he replaced the Doors' original manager, Bill Siddons, following the death of Morrison in July 1971. On October 5, 2010, Screen Gems released the film to Blu-ray. Previous extras from the 2004 DVD were carried over, with the exception of the Wadd documentary. [7] Reception [ edit ]Sugerman is a great, if occasionally overwrought and self-aggrandizing, raconteur and this book is full of interesting, occasionally hilarious and occasionally horrifying tales. It also is more effective at dissuading you from drug use than an infinite number of anti-drug commercials. By all accounts, Sugerman stayed clean after the trip to rehab that ended this book. He died a few years ago after a long battle with lung cancer. John Holmes had one final request of his wife, Laurie Holmes, before he died. He was afraid that someone would want to detach and jar his famous penis for display, so he requested that she ensure his body was intact before being cremated. In his book, Porn King, Laurie wrote that everything was where it was supposed to be. Ironically, his famous appendage does live on for posterity in the form of a 12 and-a-half inch rubber dildo that can be bought in many sex shops and even on the Internet. Laurel Canyon is a mountainous neighborhood in the Hollywood Hills region of the Santa Monica Mountains, within the Hollywood Hills West district of Los Angeles, California. The main thoroughfare of Laurel Canyon Boulevard connects the neighborhood with the more urbanized parts of Los Angeles to the north and south, between Ventura Boulevard and Hollywood Boulevard. He died on January 5, 2005, in Los Angeles, from lung cancer, [7] and is buried at Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery.

Goldsmith, Susan (September 20, 2001). "A Really Good Deal Ex-nightclub owner may serve only 37 months in Wonderland murders". The New Times. Los Angeles. Gonzales of Slant Magazine wrote, "There’s little doubt that Cox wants to leave viewers affected by the emotional depth in Holmes's story, but when his film wears its vulgarity on its sleeve, the whole work ends up feeling far more exploitative than exploratory." [6] Ebert gave the film a mediocre review overall, granting it two out of four stars, and saying: " True crime procedurals can have a certain fascination, but not when they're jumbled glimpses of what might or might not have happened involving a lot of empty people whose main claim to fame is that they're dead." Though police didn’t identify a suspect initially, Nash pointed fingers at several people he knew had been in his home the day of the crime. Until the twentieth century, passage up the canyon was made on foot or by mule. In 1907, an 82-mile dirt road, later named Laurel Canyon Boulevard, was built. It ran up the canyon, dividing at what is now Lookout Mountain Road; the left road went up to the summit of Lookout Mountain, and the right branch of the road went to the top of the Santa Monica Mountains and then down to the San Fernando Valley. By June 1981, Holmes was allegedlyin debt and stealing cash from hisdealings - money belongingto the Wonderland Gang -to buy more drugs for himself. When the group realized what Holmes was doing, they allegedly took hiskeys to the Wonderland house, beat him up, and threatened his life if he didn't fix the situation. Knowing how dangerous the men were, Holmes, according to prosecutor Ron Coen, came up with a plan to assist the gang in robbing one of his wealthy acquaintances, Eddie Nash, who was known to keep a trove of drugs, money, and other valuables in his home. YouTube The violence that resulted from the Nash robbery left hardly anything in the Wonderland house free from bloodstains.
