How much sex were you expecting to have?” he demanded, dangling a roll of foil-wrapped birth control over me. I shrugged. “There’s more in the nightstand. I guess I probably won’t need more than one since I ended up with you.” As you can see, that same brotherly banter and gentle ribbing are there, but that’s only part of what I adore about these books. Seeing Lucian’s reaction and how he tries to ignore it when Sloane is brought up, I’m swooning. There is something so comforting and fun about this series so I honestly can’t wait for September.

At this point, the book is still being written but I feel like this is just enough to get you excited and hopefully, hold you over until the cover is released. This is a snippet of a scene in which the best book boyfriends: Nash, Knox, and Lucian are talking about Sloane. Things We Left Behind” follows Lucian Rollins and Sloane Walton as they navigate their complicated pasts and the magnetic pull drawing them together. Despite their mutual animosity, their passionate encounter leads to unforeseen consequences. As they struggle to overcome their differences, their intense connection becomes undeniable. However, conflicting desires threaten to tear them apart, forcing them to confront their fears and make difficult choices. Book ReviewBut I honestly would too!! Sloane is literally my new obsession!! She’s everything I want to be and more!! She’s so strong, independent, intelligent, badass, witty, caring, supportive and more!! I would’ve married her if Lucian didn’t tbh!! She just deserves nothing but the best!!! sloane walton is a feisty blonde librarian that is actively getting involved in a social justice case. after library hours, she is giving interviews to try to help reduce an extremely drastic sentence on a wrongful conviction and trying to find a husband. she’s going on dates trying to find the one but it would be a lot easier without her archnemesis living next door. Lucian Rollins is a lean, mean, vengeance-seeking mogul. On a quest to erase his father’s mark on the family name, he spends every waking minute pulling strings and building an indestructible empire. The more money and power he amasses, the safer he is from threats.

What does this mean? It means Sloane and Lucian are gonna see each other more than they bargained for. If only they could control the way they ACTUALLY want each other 👀 I adored this series, I adored getting to know and love these characters, making room in my heart for each of them. And I hope beyond anything that this author gives us another series to sink our teeth into. P.S. This book made me laugh out loud WAY too many times, and my coworkers stared at me so much today while I finished it. Lucy put the A in Angst with this one, the ping pong of heated barbs thrown at the other was neerending. They couldn't even stand to be in the same room with each other. Sebastian York and Lila Winters did as good a job as possible BUT I do think that the author should have gone with another male narrator. Yes, I listened to the previous 2 books in this series and although it didn't make much difference that Mr York narrated both Knox & Nash's books (with book 1 - Knox - been by far the best in the series), I feel it would have made a bigger impact using someone else for Lucian. [That being said, Sebastian York still remains one of my favorite narrators. 😁]

i still can’t stop thinking about the scene in the TWHFTL when he crushed is coffee cup when he found out she went on a date. i was expecting more of the same behavior, but he was amused with her dating, instead of puting his hat in the ring.

Lucian Rollins: A driven and revenge-seeking mogul, Lucian is determined to erase his father’s tarnished legacy. He is a complex character whose protective nature clashes with his reluctance to commit to a family. In the meantime, they’re still dealing with the Anthony Hugo situation (the overarching plot from the previous two books) and all that entails, including helping a woman that was given an excessive prison sentence. There was only one woman who could set me free. But I would rather set myself on fire than ask Sloane Walton for anything. This is my favorite book in this series. I think it was well rounded, had great characters, was serious at times but still cute fun and sexy. I can’t believe it’s already over… it felt so long yet so short at the same time. This was most definitely the BEST read I’ve had in a while!!! I’m seriously at the loss for words… I can’t describe how much I love this book and how much IN LOVE I am with Sloane and Lucian!!! Finally reading Lucian and Sloane’s story in Things We Left Behind! Things We Left Behind: My Review the 🤣. A TENS machine? Bahahaha 🤭 the way Sloane and Lucian continued to make digs on each other and had the machined leveled up, because the pain was worth it, had me dying 🤣. Not Lucian feeling like he can be at Sloane’s level of pain 🤡. When they all hang up on Knox with snow was 🤌🏻. Sigh. So many other times I was laughing As a fellow gal in my 30s ... it takes me some depth to truly enjoy romances these days. I think I need that depth to fall in love with the characters truly? There are some hateable moments, and then the fist-pumping triumphs that make you believe in love - The Things We Left Behind has them ALL.

I’ve been waiting for this book… ever since TWNGO came out, I became extra invested in whatever the h happened between Lucian and Sloane to create so much tension and animosity… You’re a nine.” Sloane punched the air in victory. “Yes!” Naomi was watching us again. I held up a taco and gave her a friendly nod. “Take me to a ten,” I told Waylay when Naomi looked away. I think the aspect that really kept me from rating it higher is the ultimate reason for Sloane and Lucian to be at odds with one another for OVER TWENTY YEARS. I mean, these are smart individuals with self-awareness, and yes, the incident that happened was very important but they couldn’t have a conversation about it or work it through in twenty years? Lucian’s staying in town to help support Karen, Sloane’s mom. He’s always looked at her as a second mom and knows she’s grieving the love of her life 🫶. That also means that he’ll be hanging out with his happily-coupled friends (Knox/Naomi and Nash/Lina) and his enemy- Sloane 😑). Let’s start off with the tropes that this book delivered. To say that it ATE is an understatement. It was the perfect combination!!! I mean… childhood friends to enemies to lovers, enemies with benefits AND forbidden love?!?! I’m on my goddamn KNEES!!!!!Sloane (38) and her family are getting ready for her dad’s memorial service when the book opens up (hit me with the angst right from the start 😭) and Lucian’s (40) also attending. You see, Lucian and her parents had a special relationship for DECADES, one Sloane wants to know what exactly’s been going on 😑. But first, she needs to come to terms with the fact that her dad’s gone ☹️ and the emotions that come with losing a father, and then she’ll deal with the Lucian situation 😅. the extra seven weeks 😭. I. Was. 😭 during this scene. It isn’t until you lose someone close that you realize how important every day, every hour, every minute is 😭. Which is why, I think, I was able to overlook some grievances I had against Lucian (😑)
