The character development throughout this was amazing to read. Both separately and together. They heal each other. They were so good together.And the other obvious fact here is the exhibition of one’s feelings where everything is made public and therefore loses its importance.

Aaaaaannnndddd she does it on TikTok, because this is 2023 and teenagers do everything publicly on social media. Kinks are thrown in at random in the cheesiest most awkward way possible. No depth at all. It’s got it all… and not a single one is done well or organically, it’s all talked to death and the hero is already a card carrying expert as he’s sexed literally all the people in all the ways dozens of times. Nothing at all is exclusive to the MCs. Nothing. the big teenage drama is nothing. The heroine finds out the hero told some lies to win her, and instead of being flattered, as the little prim prejudiced bitch that she is, throws a tantrum and dump him.

This book had so much potential, truly sad.. it had this old school college book vibes like Beautiful Disaster, nerd and off campus series. It started off so damn well. Spoilers ahead, particularly concerning the “grovel” but also other things for context. If you don’t want such specific spoilers then don’t read further. some days later, after the hero went TikTok - almost- with a video where he cries and asks for her forgiveness, she decides to give him another chance. Poor hero. With such a high maintenance girl I don’t know how happy he can be. His choice though. Today, he just made her this offer that she cannot refuse. If she spends the next six months as his fake live-in girlfriend with benefits, he will pay off her whole student loan debt. Lauren should not trust him. Because why on earth would he want ordinary Lauren when could have literally any woman that he wants? These two obviously have a lot of trauma but in different forms. Neither expect that they’d catch feelings, they both just wanted to get one thing out of this situation. This book just like book one does an excellent job of depicting the purity culture, and how it affects someone mentally as well as physically. It obviously has the spice, some praise kink.
