Hi Ken, selecting components from different vendors can be a great option if you know what you want. Electronic drum components like pads, cymbals etc, tend to be compatible with e-drum brains of other vendors (however you should certainly do some research into the particular components you are getting to be sure of it). I’ve dropped this instrument and it’s even been rained on multiple times! The build quality of this device was definitely strong enough to take it.
