The kind of pretty that makes a man think getting murdered in his sleep might not be a bad way to go.”Anyway, the trans character literally only gets one or two lines of dialogue, and we wouldn’t know that she’s trans unless another side character pointed it out in a transphobic way, saying the trans character, whose name is Valentina, is “playing pretend”. The chapter where this happens is from Warner’s POV, who already knew about the character being a trans woman, but he doesn’t really do anything to defend her. Instead, Valentina has to defend herself, and then the matter is simply pushed aside to continue with the plot. Kenji spins around. Yanks the gun out of Warner’s hand. “What the hell is wrong with you, man? I thought we were cool.”

This book made me realize that Chris and Mal’s story was never going to be able to be a smooth journey because just like Mal said they really are a case of right person wrong time Dom this man is perfect. I love him and his dirty/beautiful mouth so much <33 he was so thoughtful and understanding and sweet and hot. He is everything I want and need <3 everytime i read his pov was like a reward. The way he was thinking about her was so beautiful i want to cry.I will let this man do anything to me. He doesn’t even has to ask all he has to do is snap his fingers and I’ll be on my knees for him🧎🏻‍♀️I JUST LOVE HIM Her hands settle on my hips and pull me forward; I trip a little as I follow her lead. “What are you doing?” I begin to say, but when I meet her eyes I find tenderness and concern. XD I loved their honest conversations and it made me happy that Kenji was able to make Warner smile! I mean he made him smile!!! That’s such an accomplishment! *lol* So yeah, I totally dig them! Sorry Tahereh! I can’t help it! ;-P I don’t really know man,” Kenji says, and sighs. “I think, this time, you just have to deal with the consequences of your own stupidity.” Hey!” Kenji shouts. “I am not here for this abusive relationship, okay?” He points at Warner. “I did not sign up for this shit!”

i don't hate adam. i'm sorry. especially with how his power could save peoples' lives in the next books, and he might've escaped the hell of that ending? he might save the day. It hits me with a painful force, the reminder. Of just how much I love her. God, I love all of her. Her impossibilities, her exasperations. I love how gentle she is with me when we’re alone. How soft and kind she can be in our quiet moments. How she never hesitates to defend me. After one drunken night, and a surprisingly sexy act of heroism, he's started to be...nice. Treating me like something other than the physical embodiment of his annoyance, which would be nice if it didn't make me feel all the things I swore to never feel for another man after my husband died.
