About this deal

Starting recording 30 seconds after the camera is turned on. (When the optical image stabilizer function is set to [ON].) The Panasonic Lumix TZ95 (also know as the ZS80) is a new travel-zoom camera. The TZ95/ ZS80 features a 30x optical zoom Leica lens, 20.3 megapixels, 4K video recording, a 3.0-inch tiltable rear monitor, new high-resolution Live viewfinder, RAW format support, manual exposure control, and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. AWB / AWBc / AWBw / Daylight / Cloudy / Shade / Incandescent / Flash / White Set 1, 2, 3, 4 / Color Temperature Setting The screen and viewfinder are both very good for a camera of this size and style. You can get better image quality if you spend more money and opt for a camera with a larger sensor and a narrower zoom range, but the Panasonic Lumix ZS80 / TZ95 produces pleasing results. Panasonic’s stabilisation system comes into its own at the 720mm end of the lens. You still need a steady hand to get the composition you want, and the image seems to circle slowly around the frame, but it helps you get sharp shots. I found I got consistently sharp results at 1/30sec, which is good going. There’s a good level of detail visible in images shot throughout the focal length range. However, you can expect the corners to look a little softer than the centre at the 24mm end of the lens. It’s not something that leaps out at you but you may notice it if you zoom into peep at the pixels. The view via the display itself is best described as life-like on the ZS80.Mirrorless Cameras Canon EOS-M Cameras Canon EOS-R Mirrorless Cameras Fujifilm X Mirrorless Cameras Nikon Z Cameras Sony Alpha Cameras Panasonic Lumix S Cameras Panasonic Lumix G Cameras Olympus OM-D & PEN Cameras Canon EOS-M Mirrorless Cameras

Macro focus lets you focus on subjects 3cm away from the front of the lens, and hybrid 5-axis image stabilisation helps keep shots and video steady in low light or when using a lot of optical zoom. The ISO range extends from ISO80 up to ISO6400, and the camera can shoot at 10fps at the full resolution of 20 megapixels. As expected we get the warm, well-saturated colours Panasonic is known for, as well as plenty of detail captured right into the corners of the frame – at least when there’s plenty of light around. If detail softens at maximum zoom that is only to be expected, especially when shooting handheld, but again results are better than we’ve seen elsewhere from similar products and will certainly satisfy those wanting a record of sunny summer holidays.

As we might expect on a contemporary image capture device, connectivity is via wireless and wired combined, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth offered alongside being able to physically connect a USB or HDMI lead.
