About this deal

Knight (same as Hero Collection Guardian Knight) * so right now you can play as him in the Companion App even before the update! flier with QR code advertising the Companion App (identical to the one included in MOTM and FH) <--- also handy as a 'bookmark' for the quest book! Avalon Hill and parent company Hasbro establishes HeroQuest Day, celebrating the iconic fantasy board game’s rich history, as well as looking towards the future with the release of the Rise of the Dread Moon expansion set. In the North American version, as well as the remade version from Avalon Hill, this part of the story is omitted, Sir Ragnar’s story ended after we rescued him. I know the community has been really excited and hyped up about Rise of the Dread Moon, and although we are thrilled to have more details about the expansion, I can’t help but feel bad about the way it’s happened.

The Specter has the ability to cast the Dread Spell “Channel Dread” at will. At the very least, this means it can cast the spell once every turn. The “At Will” part may be a little confusing. Can this monster cast the spell outside of Zargon’s turn? I don’t think so, but we’ll have to wait to see if this is specified in the Quest Book. HeroQuest, the revitalised dungeon-crawler board game, will cap off the first major narrative since its relaunch in 2020 with new expansion Rise of the Dread Moon.Update 5/19/23: The first official pictures of miniatures for this expansion have finally been revealed here.! Additional stretch goals included alternate sculpts of monsters: skeletons with sword and shield, goblins armed with claws, blade wielding zombies, two-handed hammer orcs, stalking mummies, sword armed dread warriors, a dread sorceress and a gargoyle. Other stretch goals also included three quest books: The Prophecy of Telor by Stephen Baker, The Spirit Queen's Torment by Teos Abadia, [15] and The Crypt of Perpetual Darkness by Joe Manganiello. [16] The latter was gifted to those who pledged for the mythic tier content as a result of falling short of the target figure. If by some chance this is the Spirit Queen from the Mythic Quest, this would be amazing. Maybe they’ll include The Spirit Queen’s Torment quest book in the box with Rise of the Dread Moon.

The awesome guys over at Avalon Hill gave us quite the treat last night. I was debating publishing this then, but I decided I should wait until morning, give it some more time to sink in. Wait until some of the commotion over it settled down a bit. That, and it was nearly 2AM by the time I finished drafting this and I wanted a chance to proofread it before posting! Rise of the Dread Moon Cover in all its Glory The added game mechanics are just complex enough to add something interesting to the game, but without making destroying the main thing that makes HeroQuest stand out from most other games, it’s simplicity. Rise of the Dread Moon marks the conclusion of a broader storyline introduced in The Mage of the Mirror, HeroQuest’s first major expansion following its official relaunch in 2020. From the official description: “As a brave knight, you're challenged to finally free Elethorn from the clutches of Zargon. Embark on dangerous quests, as you seek the aid of the Cadre of the Raven's Veil to help stop Zargon's forces of Dread from destroying the kingdom. Navigate through a dark labyrinth of waterways, an underground city, and more perilous locations. But be wary—for Zargon's forces grow ever stronger with the rise of the Dread Moon!” Remember above when I said that I would talk more about the Mythic Exclusive Quests, well here we go.It occurred to me, and this is pure speculation, that if the "ghostly magical control" thing is true, maybe this time around instead of turning into Werewolves the Heroes (or other characters) can turn into ghosts... maybe we'll get ghostly faced tiles to represent their spirits... while the "bodies" go around doing Zargon's bidding? But wait, there is more interaction with furniture introduced. The Sorcerer’s table also has a purpose now. During the quest, Heroes will have the opportunity to collect Lunar Charms. If a Hero searches a room with a Sorcerer table for treasure, they may also restore 1 Body and Mind Point if they are holding a Lunar Charm. The Elf does not require a Lunar Charm to gain this effect from a Sorcerer table. A quest booklet contains 10 scripted adventures that sends a party of two to five adventurers into dangerous locales as they attempt to free Elethorn from the control of returning villain Zargon (extremely genre pulp names, both). Doing a bit of digging, I managed to determine the origin of the image. It popped up briefly during the Hasbro Investor Day 2022 Virtual Event which was livestreamed. Hall, Charlie (2020-10-27). "The new version of HeroQuest is a faithful remake of the classic board game - An exclusive first look at Hasbro's ambitious crowdfunding campaign". Polygon . Retrieved 2020-09-24.

The value of some potion reagents has fluctuated in this war-torn economy, so you may see some changes to the gold coin value of some of our potions. I think there is already going to be a lot of plastic in this expansion. There’s the new Knight, Several new Elven characters, possible Cultists or Wizard type enemies, and we can’t forget Sir Ragnar. I doubt they’ll include more than one sculpt for the Specter. Any named specters, we’ll probably still have to use the Dread Sorcerer!Hoffer, Christian (October 9, 2010). "HeroQuest Announces New Stretch Goals (EXCLUSIVE)". ComicBook.com . Retrieved 2023-04-30. shrinkwrapped box with linen finish (just like Mage of the Mirror). no cardboard outer wrap or tape circles this time. For comparison; the Scout = The Scout (from Frozen Horror), the Arbalist = The Crossbowman, the Glaive = The Halberdier, and the Striker = The Swordsman. The summer of 2022 Hasbro released online quest two: Into the Northlands by Doug Hopkin, [26] [ bettersourceneeded] and the HeroQuest Adventure Design Kit. [27] [ bettersourceneeded] In this quest we have a group of Heroes infiltrating a hidden Elven Armoury in the sewers beneath Elethorn.

I want to thank the Avalon Hill team for their hard work and dedication to the fans and the franchise. Keep up the great work! We are really looking forward to what the future holds for HeroQuest!a b Quest Book (included manual). North America: Milton Bradley (published 1990). 1989. pp.1, 3, 32. I told him of the dangers, and that he should be patient, for in time he would become a great Sorcerer. But Zargon could not wait; each night he broke into my study and read my spell books. The secrets that were held within them were great indeed. Once he learned these secrets, Zargon fled. There is some speculation that the story might find our heroes saving Sir Ragnar again, not another rescue mission, but rather a redemption story like Darth Vader. I don’t think this will be the case though; I think it would be better to keep him a villain. A Tie-in to Mage of the Mirror and the Rogue Heir I'm not saying Specters aren't a great addition to Hero Quest (They fit in better then Polar Warbears), but if you're fighting a monster that could float right through you, what good are standard weapons against them?
