About this deal

Official Creality Enclosure: A tent-like enclosure that is easy to assemble and store, with heat-retaining and flame-retardant materials.

However, the difference between 120 and 250 mm/s may not matter much, because the actual speed difference is tiny. On a Benchy the difference is only 3 minutes. This is because the machine needs to accelerate to the top speed, then slow down before turning a corner. Just like your car, it can’t reach top speeds instantaneously. Even if a print covers the entire bed it will rarely hit the maximum speed. Printing on the Creality Ender 5 S1 Though one of the more expensive Ender 5 enclosures out there, you’re buying quality and a guarantee that the Ender 5 will pump out superb prints with even the most demanding temperature-sensitive materials. The Ender 5 Pro’s design means the filament has very little support before the extruder. A 3D printed filament guide is a must-have upgrade to give your filament a fighting chance. You will need a long screwdriver (>150mm) or some kind of slim extension to attach the spacers to the table legs. Designed from the ground up to create a sealed, heat-retaining cocoon for your Ender 3 to thrive in, the Innovator 3D Printer Enclosure is pieced together using large sheets of sturdy metal, see-through acrylic panels, and heavy-duty hardware. For a detailed parts list and building instructions please look here: https://blog.prusaprinters.org/cheap-simple-3d-printer-enclosure/ The cubed design of the Ender-5 S1 creates an incredibly solid printer that creates an ideal environment for the accurate printing of models. The print area of the S1 is slightly smaller than the standard model, not that you would notice, with 20mm less on the height to accommodate the new all-in-one hotend and extruder design. This gives a modeling dimension of 220x220x280mm, which is pretty decent for most projects. It’s a convenient and affordable option if building your own sounds like a frustrating DIY nightmare, but it’s also one of the more versatile options out there. This comes mainly from the fact that the Official Creality Enclosure is designed as a tent that sits over the Ender 5. The latter involves a little more leg work and additional components, but significantly improves the Ender 5 Pro flexible prints. Other notable features include loops for a pair of LED light bars on the front panel should you fancy the upgrade along with a useful tool pouch on the enclosure’s side.

These include a temperature gauge, external spool holder, fire suppression system, carbon air filter, dry filament box, and more. E3D’s Titan extruder is among the most popular options and comes from a company with an established reputation for producing quality parts. In addition to that I added rails for two LED strips that perfectly fit over the spacer elements. I bought a cold white 24V LED strip, cut it and glued it to the rails, soldered some cables on them and connected that right to the mainboard.

With the frame in hand, sourcing the other materials is pretty straightforward. Wood and plexiglass panels are widely available at hardware stores. It keeps a nice and even temperature when fully closed, I haven't tried printing ABS with it but it's certainly a good way to help the printing.

Price and availability

If you’re on a tight budget but desperately need an enclosure, using a handful of exercise or kids’ play mats is an easy and thrifty solution.
