About this deal

The original Gloamglozer assumed the form of his creator, Linius Pallitax, and served as a guide to the group that boarded Sanctaphrax, led by Nate Quarter. This Gloamglozer lured Nate away from the others, then turned into its true form, from where it referred to Nate as 'Spawn of Quintinius Verginix'.

The Curse of the Gloamglozer (Edge Chronicles, book 4) by Chris Riddell and Paul Stewart". www.fantasticfiction.com . Retrieved 20 May 2019. The Farrow Ridges - Dispatches from the Deepwoods". It led Twig astray and tried to kill him, but the Caterbird rescued him. The Russian translation is Хрумхрымс, 'Hrumhryms' or 'Khroomkhryms' which means 'munch-crunch', an onomatopoeia of bones being gnawed.

The Curse of the Gloamglozer is the perfect place to begin your journey within The Edge Chronicles. It also marks the beginning of the Quint trilogy, promising – and indeed succeeding – in taking your imagination to The Edge. The story, narration, settings, characters and illustrations are uniformly excellent and provide the complete fantasy experience. Paul Stewart is a highly regarded author of books for younger readers – everything from picture books to football stories, fantasy and horror. Together with Chris Riddell, he is co-creator of the Far-Flung Adventures series, which includes Fergus Crane, Gold Smarties Prize Winner, and Corby Flood, Silver Nestle Prize Winner. They are of course also co-creators of the bestselling Edge Chronicles series that has sold over a million books and is now available in over thirty languages.

The Edge is a basically an entire world on this massive cliff. The Deepwoods (where Twig's story begins) is more inland, and towards the edge of the Edge, a massive floating city hangs in the sky: Sanctaphrax, where our story takes place. The Edge Chronicles is a children's fantasy novel series [1] written by Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell. [2] It consists of four trilogies, plus four additional books, and other books related to the universe (The Edge). [3] The series was originally published by Doubleday, a subsidiary of Penguin Random House, [4] and has sold more than three million copies, according to its publisher. [5]This is a light-hearted adventure story which shows some wonderful moments between young friends and enemies. I think there were some very wonderful teaching moments (as this is a children's book) but equally it was a very fun read and the moments of investigation and mystery were both exciting and intriguing. Book 1 of the Quint Saga The Curse of the Gloamglozer was the fourth book in The Edge Chronicles, the first book chronologically, and the first book in the Quint trilogy. This book told the story of Quint's work for Linius Pallitax, and the horror caused by his terrifying creation of a Gloamglozer. Riddell, Chris; Drabble, Emily (9 June 2015). Fantasy Book Review highly recommends The Curse of the Gloamglozer; it provides a wonderful reading experience – young adult fantasy at its best. Ideal for the 11+ age group younger readers will be enthralled by the story and captivated by the illustrations but be warned… It may also result in many staying up longer than they really should. This book sounds great read aloud; the strongest test of a book’s narrative and the beautifully illustrated cast and imaginative world will stay long in the memory. The Winter Knights: first published in 2005, it is the eighth volume of chronicles and the second of the Quint Saga trilogy; within the stories' own chronology it is the second novel, preceding the Twig Saga and Rook Saga trilogies that were published earlier. Quint, ambitious son of a famed sky pirate. And the Gloamglozer that brings them together in the adventure of their lives.

Up until shortly before the publication of Beyond the Deepwoods, the Gloamglozer had not yet gotten this name. In early drafts, it had been called "hornswoggle", a name inspired by an American word that means to deceive [6]. This name also inspired Chris Riddell to give the gloamglozer horns. As his children were listening to "The Minpins", Paul Stewart found out that the name had already been used by Roald Dahl, a famous British children's author. He came up with a new name and thus the "gloamglozer" was born. While it did not appear during the Rook Trilogy, it had such a fearsome reputation that the zealous Guardians of Night used its face as their symbol. Rook Barkwater believed that he could see it while wandering through the Edgelands, but this was probably a hallucination. The story indicates that the Gloamglozers of the past were destroyed, meaning the one Linius creates is now the only one of its species. This would mean that the Gloamglozer Quint banishes is the same one who later deceives Twig Saga trilogy in Beyond the Deepwoods. Events have come full circle.
