As depicted in James Cameron’s sci-fi classic Terminator 2: Judgment Day, a military defense computer system called Skynet becomes self-aware in the far-flung future of 1997, setting off a nuclear holocaust in an attempt to wipe out the human race. This will be disappointing news for anyone who played T:R on PS4 and was hoping to experience the game and its DLC, with the PS5’s ‘enhanced’ graphics at the launch of ENHANCED (sadly Infiltrator Mode for Terminator: Resistance, ENHANCED and other future DLC’s, will not be releasing on PS4, Xbox One or Xbox Series X / S).

A little rough around the edges, but an absolute must play for fans of the Terminator franchise. The aesthetics, the atmosphere, the music, the sound effects, everything pays true homage and respect to the original two movies. They even made an excellent effort going deeper into the lore of Terminator, which was very impressive. You can tell that while the developers were working on an AA budget, they first and foremost wanted to be loyal to the franchise - something we haven’t truly seen since arguably 1991 when Terminator 2 came out. I think they used a lot of the original licensed music as well, and those 1980’s synthesizers really make the tone of the game feel so true to the original two movies. Sure, we’re not talking Far Cry 5 levels of open world scope here, but what is present certainly helps to make Terminator: Resistance feel like a much more meaty offering than it otherwise would.
