About this deal

Viktor & Rolf should be considered "niche" in technical terms because all they do as a brand is produce fragrances. Kudos to them for being an approachable niche brand. For many people who are not fragrance enthusiasts, niche brands are a hill that is a steep climb. What is all the hate about? Its very clear to me that all the haters of the original voted on this scent before they actually smelled it. There is no sensible explanation for the above ratios on this scent. The only way you don't like this is if it doesn't work with your skin chemistry, your are not into spicey frags or certain notes which are highlighted in this or you simply have bad taste. lol. They called him Beef Cup. With curly orange hair and blue jeans up to his nipples, he cut an imposing figure. He was the public face of "Spicebomb Night Vision EDP" until an unexplained rash compelled his resignation. Or so the story goes. I believe Beef Cup was simply tired of smelling like he just had a threesome with the Marlboro Man and a box of Cap'n Crunch. Regarding the notes… I don’t get the Tobacco… from the Red Fruits I get some tanginess and perhaps the sweetness… and from all the Peppers and Saffron I get a very nice spicy touch. Well it is more extreme. (at least in the opening and first hour or two, sure it is!) however apart from the definite addition of more aggressive spicing (cumin is apparent) for me it has a disgusting hairspray/ammonia bitterness and this thing I can't put my finger on about modern concoctions, which makes them deeper, harder more long lasting but don't improve them and in some cases completely ruin the opening and take a long time to smooth out. This unfortunately is one of those cases. However, when dried down is very much like the original except for a deeper Amber/ tobacco, and a creamy vanilla base especially observable in the very late stages of the drydown. This I have to admit is kinda lovely.

Upon spraying this on, I get a TON of pepper. (With a tiny bit of earthiness or darkness which I assume is the tobacco) It's like your refilling a pepper shaker and you accidentally inhale some of it. ITS AWESOME Price value: 5/5. I believe the price I paid for this fragrance was great. Definitely well worth my money spent. I paid seventy dollars for 1.7 fluid ounces for this fragrance.Anyway, as for the smell itself, there is not too much to say. I think a slightly burnt gingerbread smell describes it perfectly. It has this great sweet, vanilla smell with some spice around the edges. Very pleasant, and quite masculine, although I am sure plenty of women would find this suitable as well. Sillage seems to be moderate, and not as strong seeming to me as a lot of folks experience. Anecdotally, I passed my wife in the kitchen and she said "Oh that smells nice!" but she was probably less than 3ft away from me. Your mileage may vary.

The big difference is the opening. Infrared has more of a red-fruity opening. I like both versions, but it's redundant to own both since they're very similar to each other. Try them out in a store and see which one you like best. I wish the red fruits at the beginning would last a bit longer as well because I really like that part of the fragrance. Anybody reading this post and the others below, steer well clear of this rubbish, save your money and buy something else. I hate One Million and this gave me a similar feel but smells more synthetic and heavy handed. Great flanker to the original spicebomb. This one to me smells a bit less sweet on the drydown than the Extreme version. Drydown is still quite similar to my nose. Spicy warm cinnamon which is great for winter/fall. Longevity is great also. It last 9+ hours on my skin and really projects during the first 3-4 hours. After that it became less potent but never quite became a skin scent on me until about hour 6-7. It will however linger longer on clothes which is great for me as i like to spray the inside of my tshirts. When I have worn it, about a dozen times I'd say, I've not had one comment about it, good or bad. I usually get one no matter what I'm wearing whether it's at work, with my family, at the pub with the lads, or out on a date, someone always says something. With this, not a sausage, but perhaps everyone is so used to smelling it now I don't know. This is one of the most famous fall/winter fragrances, most suitable for night time wear. It probably goes without saying, but this is NOT an office friendly fragrance.

About the Fragrance: Making its debut in 2012, Spicebomb Eau de Toilette is Viktor & Rolf’s masculine ode to the iconic Flowerbomb fragrance for women. Crafted by perfumer Oliver Polge, this spicy fragrance is an instant olfactory detonation that is fiery and addictive.Out of all the fragrances that get a lot of over hype and attention throughout the community. You'd think Infrared would be the new talk of the town. It's weird everybody treating it like it's just another flanker. You hear and see all this hype around Spice Bomb Extreme. When in reality there's tons of fragrances you could mistake for Extreme. Tom Ford Noir Extreme, Paco Rabanne 1 Million Elixir, and Azzaro The Most Wanted Parum. All smell similar, especially to the untrained nose. And that's just to name a few that first come to mind. Projection: 5/5. Projection for me is a beast with this fragrance. Projection is beast in cold weather. Former dancers for Lizzo are suing the singer. They claim, among other things, that she invited them to start "catching dildos launched from the performers’ vaginas" at a sex club. Lizzo denies the claims, but one thing is certain: "Spicebomb Night Vision EDP" is the vagina-launched dildo of men's fragrances. A solid addition to any fall/winter rotation. The scent itself is lovely, the performance is respectable, and it's Initial projection is very strong, enough to fill a room. Sillage is very strong as well, leaving a strong and very noticeable scent trail. Around 4 hours later, projection was still about arms length and there was still a nice scent trail. Around the 6-7 hour mark is where I noticed the projection and sillage was gone, and it was only clinging on as a skin scent. The scent stayed on my skin about 12 hours, making it certified eternal.

The name Spicebomb Extreme couldn't be more appropriate, this is indeed an EXTREME SPICE BOMB. The opening is warm, spicy, and sweet. Every single note in the breakdown is noticeable, but the strongest are the vanilla, cinnamon, and whiskey. The scent is pretty linear, so the dry down is pretty similar to the opening. The tobacco is a little bit stronger, but it's still predominantly vanilla, cinnamon, and whiskey. Although the whiskey note is noticeable throughout, I wouldn't consider this a boozy fragrance as the whiskey doesn't dominate any of the other notes. I’m curious to see what else Viktor&Rolf come up with and will certainly keep them on my radar in the fragrance world. It opens up very syrupy/bubblegummy sweet with a lot of cinnamon and "red fruits" and that original SB DNA is the framework behind it. But then... This is a safe blind buy if you like sweet and spicy fragrances, or you enjoy the Spicebomb line as it doesn't deviate too far from the Spicebomb DNA. I believe this perfume could have been a million times better if they avoided the citrusy accords, used natural cinnamon, and had dialed down on the sweetness.Sillage: Draw, although great projection until the mids neither of these frag are beast mode I found that sillage in both to be reasonably close and better than most. Initial projection is strong at around 6 feet. Sillage is strong as well, leaving a very noticeable scent trail. After a few hours the projection was about 12 inches and there was still a slightly noticeable scent trail. At about the 8 hour mark is when it started wearing off completely. Bought it when I gave in to the hype, together with Dior Sauvage EDT in a flurry of foolish naive enthusiasm. Trying to navigate this hobby as a clueless beginner, the first influencers and recommendations all pointed towards fragrances such as these. This is the fragrance I associate most with my early rookie mistakes into this hobby. I mistakenly oversprayed this at a work party while I had grown anosmic to it. Nobody said a word, but I did realize embarrassingly enough that it was quite the potent force to everyone else. Lesson learned the hard way.
