About this deal

The price seems a little on the high side, especially when you add the optional lens hood, but the RF 24mm F1.8 Macro IS STM has the potential to be a real favourite optic for a day out with your camera. The lens has a new formula that sees 11 elements arranged in nine groups. This includes a single glass moulded aspherical element within the focusing group in the middle of the formula, which is in place both to combat spherical aberration and also to keep image quality consistent over focusing distances. Portraits and movement with the Speedlite EL- Portraits and movement with the Speedlite EL-5 Portraits and movement with the Speedlite EL- For macro work the lens performs sublimely, especially when paired with the EOS R5 where the extra resolution reveals the extent of the fine detail being captured. Unlike some macro lenses the AF works brilliantly here, zipping around the frame and through the focal planes lightning-fast –and obviously you can take manual control for micro-adjustments with the benefit of focus peaking and magnification if you want to zero in on specific points of interest. This is among the sharpest fast wide lenses made, but lens sharpness has nothing to do with picture sharpness; every lens made in the past 100 years is more than sharp enough to make super-sharp pictures if you know what you're doing. The only limitation to picture sharpness is your skill as a photographer. It's the least talented who spend the most time worrying about lens sharpness. Skilled photographers make great images with whatever camera is in their hands; I've made some of my best images of all time with an irreparably broken camera! Most pixels are thrown away before you see them, but camera makers don't want you to know that. All of Canon's R cameras and RF lenses include full-frame sensors. It's a departure from its SLR line, which split between EF lenses for full-frame and EF-S for APS-C. It's a super-fast f/1.8 which lets us shoot in darker conditions at lower ISOs at faster shutter speeds than with any zoom lens regardless of price. This is by far the biggest compromise in producing such a small, light and relatively affordable wide-angle lens. The rounded 9-bladed diaphragm gives 18-pointed sunstars on brilliant points of light at moderate and smaller apertures. Canon RF 24mm F1.8 Image quality

A 35mm F1.8 option is a fairly sensible and versatile lens to have at the start of a system, and its broad appeal should pique the interest of street, travel, nature, portraiture and even landscape photographers. The added bonus of image stabilization also makes the absence of sensor-based stabilization from the current bodies less of an issue, while ‘Macro’ in the name indicates a close focusing distance of 17cm / 6.7 in (albeit shy of being truly macro, offering a maximum reproduction ratio of 1:2). Closing the aperture to f2 reduces the vignette more than anything else, but as you close further to f2.8 the bokeh blbs in the corners become more circular and there’s greater evidence of the 9-blade aperture system. party or parties obligated to provide service under this Service Contract as the service contract provider, With all this said, I really, really wish that the Canon 35mm f1.8 USM IS RF were weather sealed. Though it’s built well overall, weather sealing would have made this lens a truly perfect companion to the company’s stellar L lens lineup for the RF series.” Ease of Use Full Frame Cameras Canon EOS-R Full Frame Cameras Nikon Z Full Frame Cameras Full Frame L Mount Cameras Sony Full Frame Cameras Canon EOS DSLR Full Frame Cameras Nikon DSLR Full Frame Cameras Vlogging Cameras

Nort As you can see at Sunstars it has a couple of ghosts if pointed directly at the sun from in the shade, and otherwise you'll never see any. Canon sells another line of mirrorless cameras, EOS M, with APS-C sensors, but there's no cross-compatibility between EOS R and EOS M systems. You can't share lenses between them. It's super sharp from corner to corner. This image is focused at infinity so closer objects are softer: Remarkable Image Stabilization (IS) lets me get perfect tripod-equivalent sharpness at 1/2 second most of the time!
